Looking at how the Conservative Right is in such a hurry to install their leadership to tell the country how to think,
look at Bush, Frist, Lott, DeLay, Gingrich, Hastert, Roberts, Thomas, Scalia, Rove and all those who have been part of putting them where they're at.

Question: Do you really think that these fools are the ones who should be telling you what you should or should not be allowed to do ?

I've got more morals in my thumb than the whole bunch of them have collectively.

Those who are so mindless as to allow Rush, Hannity, Liddy, North and the Conservative
hacks be their Mental Moral Mentors
must be pretty damn morally bankrupt to follow the lead of 'convicted felons' and 'felons in waiting' as examples of righteousness.

Captain, you and I may not agree with everything (and that's ok), but one thing I can say is...

Although you're an old school Republican and I'm an old school Centrist, I can respect your opinion... why?

Because old school politics and the people who debated it had not yet lost their sense of right and wrong.

Sadly, today's pundits and politicians have.

Sadly, today's pundits and politicians have

With the Leftist and Rightist Political Hacks carving up the country for their own self serving power grabs,
who is left to watch for the best interests of the country and 1t's citizens ?

Very few, I'm afraid.

I agree with your assessment, but you don't actually think the "Right" quite has a monopoly on "loose moral fibre," do you?

Of course not, but the 'Right' is organized to exploit it more than any other political time in our countries history.

Good post, but Gingrich is hardly a religious zealot.

Calling Rush, Hannity, Liddy, North and others felons or felons in waiting is ridiculous...some of them have their problems, but then everyone does. And calling conservatism a mental disorder also seem spretty greddy to me, I mean seriously a mental disorder?

Liddy and North are both convicted felons - Liddy from Nixons team of 'Burglars' at the Watergate,
North for his actions under Reagan in the Iran Contra dealings.

Limbaugh is the 'Felon in Waiting' for his engagement in 'Doctor Shopping' and illegal drug purchases in Florida.

Gingritch is just a power obsessed Georgia 'Good-Ole-Boy' who's ego is bigger than his hat size,
a womanized that abandoned his wife when she really needed support - remember that "You've got Breast Cancer & I want a divorce" ?

So that brings us to 'Shout Down the Facts' Hannity and his being a media control freak.

You've really got some upstanding examples of citizenry to follow.

I'm still looking for where I listed 'Conservatism' as a Mental Disorder, I can't find it.

Still, I'm right on about their followers being STUPID, what company do you wish to associate with ?

Bitter ?

That's a list of facts, courtesy of the GOP leadership & their Conservative backers.

I don't think that it's a good deal for Polititians to damage the reputation of the country at the expense of the citizens
for thir own petty egos and the power of unlimited greed.

That's just the way it is.

If the Demo's were engaged in the overthrow of our democracy, I would be just as bitter.

LOL - I hardly think the party of the esteemed William Jefferson Clinton can admonish anyone for being a "power-obsessed Good-Ole-Boy" with a large ego, womanizing ways, and little to no respect for the sanctity of marriage. ;)

And why should I give a damn what the Dem's think about Clinton ?

As a Republican I do have a right to be concerned about the direction of the GOP and where their 'Leadership' is taking it.
At least the Titanic did have a rudder that the captain could have used if he had listened to the warnings.
This shipwreck doesn't even have a rudder to change the direction with -
"Iceberg ahead, ramming speed !"

1) There was a smiley-face at the end of my post.
2) Gingrinch is hardly a driving force in the Republican party.
3) If you are just now becoming concerned that the Republican party of today is vastly different than the ones from yesteryears - then all I can say is "better late than never."

I think it is funny people are worried about the Right. Go back 50 years and take a look at the right compared to the right now.

This country has gone through a huge shift to the left. Yesterdays liberals are todays conservatives and todays liberals are nothing short of stalinists.

He's more positioned than many others to make a comeback (scary)

Been watching it nosedive since St. Ray-Gun left.
Bush-Daddy was a mediocre middle manager that did little.
Gulf War I was right on, and he knew where to stop - and why.

No kidding, the republicans today are the democrats of the 50s/early 60s...the dems today are being controlled by the socialist/marxist left.

Nixon's 'Southern Strategy' was to use the Biggoted Southhern Democratic Party and have them turn against the mainstream
of their party politics under Johnson & his war, and bring their baggage to the GOP - for a price. Sell outs.

The Democrats of today have ZERO in common with Socialism or Marxism, that's a perception of those who were too young to know.

Consevatism means to hold the Constitution and it's doctrine above the rest. That's gone with the wind . . . the South Gonna rise . . again.

Exactly which part of the constitution has "gone to the wind" in the past 5 years?

The only part I can see is the right to own your own land, which was taken by, oh yeah, Democratic Judges.

So 'Democratic' Judges hang for one party for agreement with a GOP Majority ?

You can't 'Give' away our protection under the Constitution, but past history shows that it has been 'Treatied' away.

The Patriot Act gutted what the War on Drugs had left us of the 4th, 5th, and 6th amendments.

Oh geez here we go...look, much of what the democrat party has in mind is socialism and some of them communism. All you have to do is read, more specifically read their books. The books written by many of these democrats.
