Depends on whether you mean degree of difficulty or in terms of influence.

I'd have to go with Eruption for the influence....for the most part, the world had never heard anything like it when it came out. Eddie's playing spawned pretty much all the fast playing and crazy stuff that came afterwards. Lots of guys later could actually play faster, but Eddie was the one that started it all.

What about White Summer/Black Mountainside?

Does it count as a guitar solo even though the whole song is just guitar?

It does have some guitar overdubs, perhaps knocking it out of the running.

Hmm comfortably numb is in the lead, I probably would have said that it would have come in second.

While the studio version of Comfortably Numb is great, I have to say DG doing it live is in a league of its own. If anyone has seen or heard the extended solo he does in the PULSE concerts you know what i'm talking about. Makes my jaw drop everytime.

Wow... I'm surprised I wasn't the only one who picked Mr Crowley. Glad to have some Randy Rhoads fans in here.

Ok, I finally voted - it was too hard to decide, so I picked Layla because that's like one of the only I can play :D
Anyways - Comfortably Numb didn't get my vote because the solo was too enhanced by drums... and, yes, where is Cream??

I love the clean sound of George Harrison on the Beatle's "Day Tripper".

And I think Hendrix' best is "The Wind Cries Mary."
