Yeah, sweeping is definately harder. I suck at sweeping. I can get the downstrokes right, but picking upward is what gets me.

Master of Puppets. Nothing Else Matters has a really good solo (on s&m) as well, and honorable mentions go to sweet child of mine, comfortably numb, and Fade to Black.

Before I read your list, the first thing I thought of was Mason Williams and Classical Gas. It's not rock, but it's good guitar.

I voted for Time.

Some of the "best" solos such as Stairway are all skill, no style, no emotion.

erruption and that stuff Jimmypage13 provided, while its skillfull and all i don't care for that in terms of awesome solo's....takes a lot more than speed, like someone mentioned, it's all about the feeling....
