My favorite is Angus Young's solo in ACDC's You Shook Me All Night Long.

Trying my new automated poll program, hope it works.

What do you think is the best guitar solo ever?

Wow huge list, I'd pick Freebird even though I don't like southern Rock all that much.

You should add Freedom by RATM to this list.

I like the opening to AC/DC's Thunderstruck but thats not on your incredibly long list so I picked Smells like teen spirit as I'm a Nirvana fan.

25 or 6 to 4 -- Chicago

It's so good there have been a couple songs that came later and were hits that used that solo note-for-note.

Out of the songs I knew by name, I had to pick "Beat It"....that solo just rocks out.

My second pick would probably be "Hot for Teacher"...again from that list.

IMO, just about any solo from Iron Maiden can hold its own against any other group.

I can't decide between Strange World's two solos or Mother Russia's five solos. Both are awesome and carry a ton of feeling.

I think if you see this, there is no doubt that Eruption is probably the best. I gave my personal vote to Time.
