and they say hand guns do not stop crime?

Now imagine is 50% of the country was as well armed, cool headed and well trained as this individual.

I'd bet dollarts to donuts crime would absolutely plumet.

Yeah. Imagine.

Has there ever been a time in history when the majority of the populous carried?

dunno, but it seems the uk now has problems with youths acting up because theres much less fear over there of people carrying guns, so they can push the behavior much farther without worrying about getting potentially shot like you would here. asbos and hoodies creating fear and mayhem:p

Groups of kids in hoodies may cause an element of fear but they don't act that way because of a lack of guns. Surely access to guns in general would cause more fear as youths may have guns?!! If a group of youths started something with me I may well get a kicking but its a darn sight better than having a cap in my ass.

If we had stricter gun laws the robber wouldn't have had a gun and the crime never would have happen.

I guess, but the woman with the kid looked like she almost died.

no ******.

the kid looked almost in the line of fire. WTF that was idiotic!

Camera angle. The bystanders were well outside of the line of fire.
that's HIGHLY debatable. I contend that they weren't as "well outside of the line of fire" as you claim.

No, its really not debatable.
Did she or her child get shot?
Nope, they sure didnt.
Did she or her child suffer powder burns?
Nope, they sure didnt.

Its a matter of persespective and skill. For .mil guys, they will ocasionally move downrange to change out their targets while their buddies continue to fire right next to them.
You could stand at 100 yards and hold a quarter between your fingers and I could put a hole in the quarter and never so much as scuff your fingers with my varminter.
You could stand within 4 feet of the target at 100 yards with my iron sights M4gery.
With a pistol at 10 yards a few feet.

Can you do that? Whats considered a safe distance to the line of fire is dependent upon the shooters abilities. In this case the shooter was well trained and obviously the woman was well outside his line of fire. If it was some ghetto gansta wanna be who holds his gun sideways and "throws" the gun while shooting the woman may very well have been in real danger.

Yep. And if we banned drugs and spent billions each year trying to keep them from coming into the country no one would be selling, buying or addicted to them.

Oh wait...

You cannot uninvent a 500+ year old technology. If the criminals want guns, they will get them, no matter how many bans you pass.
