I would imagine having a gun battle take place just feet from you does get the heart pumping a bit.

Camera angle. The bystanders were well outside of the line of fire.

That was some damn impressive shooting. 3/3 shots hitting while both targets are in motion is NOT easy to do.

Will the shooter get into trouble later? The bad guy was running away and got shot in the back.

Before any of you screamming "liberallllllllll", I strongly believe in an eye for an eye.

No charges filed. A bit more from a new article

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Police said a desk clerk shot a man who was attempting to rob an east side motel on Saturday night.

Officers said that shortly before 9:30 p.m., a man walked into the Super 8 Motel, located at 2055 Brice Rd., showed a gun and demanded money.

Police said the desk clerk on duty then shot the alleged robber, Antoine Stephens.

Stephens, 20, was transported to Grant Medical Center and was in serious condition on Sunday morning, NBC 4 reported.

Police said he would be charged with aggravated robbery.
3 shots fired, all 3 hit the bad guy, gun was a glock 23, 40cal with 165g Gold dots ...

Suprisingly, its not the first time a bad guy got plugged in the back and the victim walked. Weirdest case I've heard of...well...heres a copy and paste of the description...

We had a case here a couple of years ago that truly amazed me. A scumbag went into a pawn shop intent upon robbing it. The owner--older gentleman--whipped out his handy twelve gauge pump. The miscreant fled--and the old guy chased him outside. The bad guy ran across the parking lot and climbed the 8 foot chain link fence--and the old guy shot him in the back when he was on top of the fence, knocking his sorry ass over the other side where he was lying when the ambulance arrived. The POS didn't die, but I can't believe the guy got off scott free. I talked to him about it later and he said there was never any mention of wrongdoing on his part--quick interview by the po-po and they didn't even take his shotgun.

In Illinois, BTW.

IMO, that was not a very good thing to do with innocent bystanders, especially a child. He should have shown restraint.

yes, discharge your gun inches away from your coworker, a mother, and her baby.

Not questioning CCWs but was it smart to risk a gun fight with a mother and child so close? And what's the rule about shooting robbers as they are running away? Is it legal as long as they're on the property? I think it was fortunate that the mother and child wasn't hurt, otherwise it'd be a story about the dangers of citizens owning guns and vigilante yadda yadda yadda

Can't watch the video here at work... but from what I get from the comments here...

If someone robs you using a gun, isn't there a pretty good chance that person is going to go down the street and rob someone else? Just because the guy was running away, does not mean the threat to human life was gone. Some people believe that you can only shoot someone to protect your own life, but in actuality, you can shoot someone to protect your own life, your family, or any other person. I applaud the victim of the robbery, he quite possibly saved a future victims life.

but doesn't there have to be a direct threat? You can't make the claim that another person's life was DIRECTLY in danger as the robber was running away. Otherwise vigilantism would be legal
