Not sure what you are trying to imply?Originally posted by: Rainsford
You keep bringing up the size of Rush's audience...I don't think it's as good of a statistic as you think it is. Sure, 20 million is impressive...if popularity is a good way to determine quality.Originally posted by: ProfJohn
He has 20 million listeners. Makes him the most important non-politician in the country when it comes to political issues.Originally posted by: Harvey
There are plenty of good reasons not to vote for McCain. Why do you care what a bloated, lying, drugged out old windbag like Limbaugh says? For that matter, why does anyone care?
He comes out tomorrow and says he supports McCain and McCain wins the Republican nomination etc.
BTW Olberman has less than a million viewers but the lefties keep making posts about what he says?
What racist comments? I have been listening to him off and on for 15+ years and don't think I have ever heard a blatantly racist comment.Originally posted by: RightIsWrong
Are you kidding? That would be the worst thing that he could do. First, he would have to address his drug problems daily. Then he would have to address his racist comments daily after the drug questions ended. And last but most importantly, he would have to give up the radio show negating his own ego's need/greed for money and attention.Originally posted by: Lemon law

To think that he has 20 million idiots listening to him is just wishful thinking on the part of the lefties who want to think that Republicans are a bunch of mindless robots.
BTW if you want mindless robots look at the Paul supporters who spout off Paul?s beliefs without having any real understand of the issues at hand.

Could you also explain to me his friendship with Justice Thomas or the many times Walter E Williams (a black professor) has sat in as a guest hosted his show?
Limbaugh: "I don't think he's been that good from the get-go. I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. They're interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. I think there's a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn't deserve. The defense carried this team."
LIMBAUGH: Yeah. This is -- you're not going to believe this, but it's very simple. And the sooner you believe it, and the sooner you let this truth permeate the boundaries you have that tell you this is just simply not possible, the better you will understand Democrats in everything. You are right. They want to get us out of Iraq, but they can't wait to get us into Darfur.
CALLER: Right.
LIMBAUGH: There are two reasons. What color is the skin of the people in Darfur?
CALLER: Uh, yeah.
LIMBAUGH: It's black. And who do the Democrats really need to keep voting for them? If they lose a significant percentage of this voting bloc, they're in trouble.
CALLER: Yes. Yes. The black population.
LIMBAUGH: Right. So you go into Darfur and you go into South Africa, you get rid of the white government there. You put sanctions on them. You stand behind Nelson Mandela -- who was bankrolled by communists for a time, had the support of certain communist leaders. You go to Ethiopia. You do the same thing.
On the January 24 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, host Rush Limbaugh referred to Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) and actress Halle Berry as "Halfrican American," stating that "Barack Obama has picked up another endorsement: Halfrican American actress Halle Berry." Limbaugh then said: " 'As a Halfrican American, I am honored to have Ms. Berry's support, as well as the support of other Halfrican Americans,' Obama said." Limbaugh then conceded that Obama "didn't say it."
According to a June 7, 2000, Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR) article, "As a young broadcaster in the 1970s, Limbaugh once told a black caller: 'Take that bone out of your nose and call me back.' " In the early 1990s, "after becoming nationally syndicated, he mused on the air: 'Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?' " According to FAIR, "[w]hen Carol Moseley-Braun (D-IL) was in the U.S. Senate, the first black woman ever elected to that body, Limbaugh would play the 'Movin' On Up' theme song from TV's 'Jeffersons' when he mentioned her. Limbaugh sometimes still uses mock dialect -- substituting 'ax' for 'ask'-- when discussing black leaders." FAIR also reported that "In 1992, on his now-defunct TV show, Limbaugh expressed his ire when Spike Lee urged that black schoolchildren get off from school to see his film Malcolm X: 'Spike, if you're going to do that, let's complete the education experience. You should tell them that they should loot the theater, and then blow it up on their way out.' "

Now this is pretty damn funny.
Judged by their answers to three news knowledge questions2, the most informed audiences belong to the political magazines, Rush Limbaugh's radio show, the O'Reilly Factor, news magazines, and online news sources. Close behind are the regular audiences for NPR and the Daily Show.
Audiences with the highest educational achievement, by far, are the literary magazines and online news outlets. Readers of news magazines, political magazines and business magazines, listeners of Rush Limbaugh and NPR, and viewers of the Daily Show, and C-SPAN also are much more likely than the average person to have a college degree.

From what studies I have seen, in getting correct answer to current questions, NRP listeners are way way better than Rush Limbaugh listeners.

Unfortunately no. But I have listened to enough Rush Limbaugh to STATE WITH A CERTAINTY
that Rush is both serial murder of all logical principles and Rush also tells idiots what they want to hear. Personally I think many Rush ditto heads take vicarious pleasure in seeing Rush triumph where they could not. And due to the lack of any credible debate which is censored in the Rush format, Rush always wins.
Personally I always see it in non Prof John. Who posts some Rush revelation and then seems totally amazed when its gets totally debunked by people who engage in more critical thinking.
On those rare days where I listen to Rush, I can almost always expect a non Prof John echo
post.
But since I neglected to listen to Rush today, can some ditto head get me up to speed on who Rush now endorses now that Fred is dead?
Rush never through his support to Thompson, he said many times that he had not endorsed anyone. He did speak highly of him though.Originally posted by: Lemon law
The last Stat I heard on Rush was 13.6 million regular listeners. Now suddenly it grows to 20 million which is like saying its grown 50% in less than six months. Yet at the same time, the fellow Rush endorsed and put his weight behind does not have enough voter support to stay in a seven person republican field. Nor was the late Fred is dead able to raise enough money to stay in when someone like Ron Paul has money running out of his ears.
Its a very damning comment on exactly how relevant Rush Limbaugh is anymore. When Rush can't even deliver his political base and turn it into votes, why should anyone pay any attention to him as a political force?
