Ya seriously. I see no reason to refrain from being blunt about how I feel in regards to this subject so here you go. Fuck resist fights. Fuck them in the ass. I hate them. I remember wasting like 2-3 weeks before attempting Hydross just because we needed the guild to go on some kind of a mat farming mission where we all donated what we could get.

It's kind of amusing, because now FR resist gear is very easy to get and I don't recall many fights that are absolutely dependent on it other than maybe the mage tank on High King Malgaur. Maybe Al'ar might, but I don't know that fight too well.

There is no need for FR on Al'ar despite popular belief. If you ever get a shot at him then you will see what I mean. The benefits to using even a few pieces do not outweigh the loss in other stats. Al'ar is all P2. P2 is all about positioning, getting and maintaining quick agro on the mini phoenix guys, and proper DPS management. The only fights where I think FR becomes a considerable benefit is Illidan and Leotheras the Blind, but I cannot verify Illidan considering my guild's raid progress. I am just going by the boss strats I have read and his abilities. For Leo, the only person that needs stacked FR is the warlock(or other class) that tanks him during his demon phase. I do find it amusing that there is that huge set of FR/Stam gear for every class as heroic badge rewards considering how useless it is in the grand scheme of things.

having 1 tank in some FR to pick up adds in P1 and P2 is usefull but thats about it

Is there any high end content in TBC that has not been finished?

Nope, pretty much every server has at least one guild which has defeated every raid boss. A new 25 man comes out next patch though.

Sadly, our server JUST got a guild starting working on Illidan.

Sad, I know =/

ouch what server

are their any non BC servers that have an active community? I would consider rolling an alt on one of those to see BWL and beyond at a competitive level.

theres no such thing as a non BC or "WoW Classic" server

You can still go to BWL at lvl 70 right? I dont think there is anything stopping you from doing it if you feel like it.

yes people talk about it on the wow forums often, blizz has pretty much said it wont happen

and yes you can run all old content at 70, provided something isnt bugged

some servers do a weekly Naxx and BWL pug

when you join a raid and zone in you get "Saved" to that instance ID#. so that every time you zone in after that initial time you always zone into the same one, as kara resets once per week they do not want to be saved to your group for the week, they could get saved and then you could kick them from the raid invite someone else and the clear the instance, they would be saved to a cleared instance with nothing to do

Just as a note going off what Anubis said, you typically only get saved after you beat a boss/encounter. Also, if you go into an instance that has defeated a boss/encounter, you are saved upon entering. For example, my mage was in a Kara that went up to Curator and my priest hasn't gone yet. My priest had the quest to find the guy in Kara and then get the log. So I joined up with my mage and went into Kara where once I walked in on my priest, I was immediately saved. I did this on a Monday night as Karazhan resets on Tuesdays, so if I wanted to do Kara, I wouldn't be stuck in someone else's instance. But now I've also got my quest done and I need to kill Malcheezar now 🙂.

That's right. Many people will not join a Kara raid because they intend to do a guild run or something later that week.

how often is kara pug'd? sometimes I never hit it up due to raid time. Is it safe to go in their with a pug? that would make me nervous.

We prefered to call her "that damned wasp".

What's your friend's name? I probably know him/her.
