Ahhhh...I can't believe I forgot to ask whether vehicles were side-locked to prevent theft but I'm glad to see that's not the case. Honestly that was one of the sole reasons I didn't like Project Reality was the side-locking and the time limitation on switching stations within vehicles, everything else in that was pretty good.

Speaking of stealing vehicles...one of my favored tactics is to let the enemy pilot warm up the chopper for a few seconds then blast him out with the M95, and since he's warmed it up for me, I can fly off immediately. Is there a weapon capable of penetrating the cockpit glass in this manner in BC2?

i have been killed a couple of times w/ a m24 or whatever they are calling what appears to be a m24 in the apache seat - close range. i was trying to get into some flying time and then some "sniper" drops in and shoots me next to the helo. same w/ the blackhawk

That manual has nothing about the UAV. I wish I could find a walk through on how to use the damn thing.

What is it about using the UAV that needs explaining?
You fly it just like any other helicopter, launch a missile, and keep the cross-hairs on the target

ehhh... it doesn't quite fly like the helicopters. More like invantry with controls for a Z axis. WASD to move around, R to increase elevation, F to decrease. Other than that there really is nothing to it.

Ah! I was wondering how you could get it to go up. I jumped on the controls one round and couldn't figure out how to make it go up so I accidentally flew into the pipeline blowing it up. :\

I for the life of me can't get used to the apache...flying has been a real pain. The few times I got into it I basically crashed immediately.

Is there a way to play around with it on an empty server to get used to / tweak in the controls?

Of course just go find an empty server. I did that to get the destroy 4 m-com stations badge lol.

Maybe a dumb question but are people still getting access to the beta by pre-ordering?

For example if I was to go and pre-order on Steam right now, are they still giving away keys? :hmm:

If you read the recent Battlefield Blog message about server configuration, you know DICE is counting on the community to write front-end tools for server administration.
I can't recall if I mentioned it earlier, but the first organization taking this on is the boys at CombatTesting.com, the guys that were giving out keys for beta testing BFBC2. Here is a link to a few pictures of their tool. Since they run their own servers for testing, they should have a pretty good idea of what the available options and capabilities of the server software are. Hopefully all the options in the pictures are working, and not "future" capabilities.
If any of you work for one of EA's Ranked Server Providers and want to test the tool, contact information for this is available at the link.

Is there any possibility whatsoever of 64 players in this even if done by a mod in the future? Or are they saving that as one of the hooks for BF3?

I headshotted someone in the Blackhawk but they were so far away I couldnt see if they were in the cockpit or not - I was just blasting away at the Heli to try and damage it

I've been headshotted while flying an Apache around, I would think that they have bulletproof glass but w/e.

So, how are you suppose to access the chase cam in the game? I can get a front view, but nothing else?

Do the killshot messages identify headshots or you guys are sure these were headshots for other reasons?

I think the shooter is notified of the headshot, and gets points for it. I don't know about the recipient.

Anybody seen a list of all the things you get points for, and how many?

Are there any volunteers here to watch a few PC Beta Youtube videos and start a list of all the things you get points for, and how many?

It would be great for the FAQ...

10 points for a regular headshot, 30 points from distance.

Ahh, what else:

50 for a kill
10 for an assist
20 for a spot assist
40 for a "critical kill assist" which, I'm guessing, is when you do the lion's share of the damage and someone else finishes them off
30 for a defensive kill near an MCOM
100 for vehicle destruction
30 for a vehicle assist
30 for "damaging' a vehicle, which means bringing it down in health by increments of 1/3
30 Points for a successful tracer dart plant

Those are off the top of my head. I'll keep thinking.

It shows a little target before the gun name if it was a headshot. The shooter is notified and gets + points for it.

Some other points:
Heal +10 per tick
Squad heal +20 per tick
Revive +50
Squad Revive +80
Resupply +10
Squad Resupply +20
Double Kill +30 (not sure of points value for this one)
Repair +10 per tick
Squad repair +20 per tick
Destroying MCOM +100
Planting charge on MCOM +30 (or +50 cant remember)
Disarming charge on MCOM +30 (not sure of points for this either)

AFAIK, forward looking, first-person or third-person view only.
Vehicles have a look left, right, up, down option. I haven't tested it because the beta doesn't recognize the "hat" on my joystick.

The Barrett .50 sniper rifle will go through the glass but in the descriptions of the choppers it says if they are bullet proof or not.

The base sniper rifle will go through it, so I'm pretty sure all of them will. I've head shotted a couple pilots as they get to taking off. Always hilarious.

How close do you have to be? I've tried to hit people in the heli's, but I guess I'm not aiming right.
