What's the advantage of using the recoil-less rifle vs the RPG? I haven't found one although I suspect the RR is geared more toward anti-infantry type stuff. The RPG blows people up just as good, while being more effective against armor.

More splash damage against infantry, I think. Plus, it flies straighter, longer.

Anyone notice that the end of game screen UI runs really slow? I get perfect framerates in game with everything maxed, but at the end of the game when I try to look at my badges and check my unlock progression it moves really slow at a terrible framerate. Not a major issue but kind of annoying.

Also the server browser is a joke. Just sayin'.

Just add this to the GameSettings ini which can by located in My Documents >BFBC2Beta.

You can just copy and paste over your old settings with what i have here into the ini. It should work. Just look for RecentGames and over write that with what i posted.

If you have played the beta much, you have probably seen how the C4 on the MCom station trick is allowing the offensive team to take out the stations without any notice to the defenders. You'll probably be relieved to hear this should be mitigated in the final release.

Nope, works fine for me at a near constant 30fps. I think it takes a minute before it works though, which is fine by me.

Server browser is slow, but has always worked for me as well.


Not sure why you are complaining about weapon unlocks, been far harder in previous games. Do you seriously want everyone to have all the weapons unlocked within an hr? I've probably only played for about 5-7 hrs non-consecutively and unlocked several new guns. It helps if you stick to a particular class, otherwise you are spreading your points out among several.

I thought the intention was to only make the first couple weapons available for unlock in the beta. Hence why the third unlock and up require 1mil xp points. I doubt it's going to stay that way.

I'm finally starting to get better at this game. The controls really took me some getting used to, but I'm still lost on flying the heli's.

Im not sure hardcore really works though.

I would think on hardcore an M24 to the chest would be a one hit kill instead of two like regular, but it wasnt. the server was only like 6 people and most of the blew ass so I quit and went back to regular.

yeah, I suppose they had a point when they were getting mad about MW2, but BC2 is a pretty damn good game in my opinion. Sure, there's a tiny bit of lag every once in a while, but other than that it's amazing.

I haven't really gotten into vehicles yet for whatever reason. How are the heli controls? I jumped in a huey and put down some fire with the mounted gun, which I thought was nicely done. Anyway, I always thought the Huey was well done in BF2, use to do flips in it and fly under power lines.

Not a Huey. Its a UH-60 Blackhawk

The US Army haven't used the Huey much since the 80's.

The resolution was 1280x720 I believe, my only issue is strange performance - I still get the same FPS if I'm 1024x768 or 1680x1050 with all of the lowest or even medium details. I tried to nvidia beta drivers and those haven't changed a thing. My CPU usually hangs around both cores at ~75% and I've still got about ~500mb free while I'm playing.

I'm hoping there some kind of optimization problem, I'm running this on a AMD X2 2.7Ghz / 2GB / 9600GSO 384MB and it's supposedly a bit better than the minimum requirements.

I hoping to swap my 9600 out for a 5770, if possible I'd like to game at 1680x1050 with all settings at medium or really close.

The hard faults are at zero and it doesn't seem to matter if I play the game on DX 8, 9 or 10.

They are automatically inverted, so go into options to change that if you aren't used to it.

Me and my brother got about 16k points just mowing shit/tanks in the third 'wave' or whatever you have to defend, with the attack heli. We used to do that all day on wake island in BF2.

It takes some getting used to, because different things can blast you out of the sky now. Also, you cannot go as high, but maybe that is a map limitation, not sure, it said we were out of the zone when we kept going up.

I can't tell you the exploit, we want to see if we can use it in the real game...haha. It's kind of stupid, but it works.

Another irritating bug is that if you're on the terrorist team the voice chatter is in Terroristeese even if you change the option to make them all English. This is really irritating because the American voice chatter is really freaking cool and adds a lot to the game, but I don't speak Sandmonkey so the beloved patriot chatter means nothing to me. Hopefully Dice fixes this or someone figures out a hack to make the terrorist voices American.

Does anyone get the feeling that this game is going to be really freaking buggy at launch? The game is a ton of fun and I can't wait to see all of the content, but there are A LOT of bugs, some minor and some major, and 1 month doesn't seem like enough time to iron them all out.

Hey now, i've been in a LOT of beta's, and i've already reported a lot of exploits/problems. What's one little one? I am sure some others will figure it out, it's not that hard, if you're on a good team
