Well, you can disable bloom by editing the setting.ini file at My Documents > BFBC2Beta > settings.ini, set it to false.
Or, you can use this tool, it's a gui to edit the ini:
Just unzip it to the directory containing the ini file and run it.

I installed FRAPS to enable screenshots, and took a look at my FPS, and it was mostly between 20 & 30. So, I finally got a reason to overclock my e8400 from 3.0ghz to the "easy" 3.6! Into the BIOS, change two settings, voila, FPS is now between 50 & 60!. CPU temp is still in the 30's. I guess I can delay the upgrades for now...
That's about the gayest thing I've ever heard, hopefully they'll fix that.I learned that if you time it just right you can hit someone parachuting in. I was sniping from the defensive side and had a clear view of the re-spawners floating in. So I decided to take a shot at one, and by george I headshotted him in mid air! Bet that guy was surprised to have died so soon, lol.

- Maps feel too small for 32 players. By the time the game gets started tons of cover is already gone and it feels like a game of Quake not Battlefield. - Could you compare mapsize to say Crysis, I think the maps with a good size were Mesa, Beach, Shore?
- No way to sort servers by latency. Seriously, every game in the past decade has had this very feature. - Wtf? Do they plan to implement this?
- Bunny Hopping Exists. Could we implement some kind of cool down? - Definite game killer for me, will not buy if bunny hopping is not stoppable
I really want to get this game, but I have some questions:
It seems that you can max settings out with at least a 4890/gtx 280 paired with a good proc, does that sound right? How would a 5750/5770 fair?
Server browser they say is not done yet and they plan on overhauling it.
Maps, if you played BF2, aren't overly large that its annoying to get to place to place without a vehicle.
With my setup in my sig, I can do 1900x1200, all max, 8xAA, 16xAF, HBAO off.
Pretty much constant 60 fps there. With HBAO on I still get 60, but once the destruction starts, it drops down to 30-40, which is too much for my liking.
Im guessing the 5770 shouldnt be too far from that, probably lower aa/af.
I love the game, but there are a few changes I'd like to see.
- Maps feel too small for 32 players. By the time the game gets started tons of cover is already gone and it feels like a game of Quake not Battlefield. Agree on the current maps. We haven't tried conquest yet, though.
I was in a 12v12 and it was much more fun. With squad spawns, 32 players isn't needed.- Bloom. There is just so much. There has to be a way to disable this. Or adjust the amount like in Half-Life 2. * Like others said, I turned it off.
- Stationary Emplacements are somewhat useless. For example the ones in the houses. Once the house gets hit by anything explosive, it's gone. * Sort of agree. It's hard to gauge because some teams are retarded and they stay up the whole time, and other knock them out instantly.
Which usually happens less than a minute into the game. Whats the point?- There's no way to defuse C4. It blows up no matter what. Somewhat annoying. * Meh. This isn't anything new. The odds of you actually seeing it are slim anyway.
- No way to sort servers by latency. Seriously, every game in the past decade has had this very feature. * Will be fixed.
- Mortar strikes are cool but goddamn if I could play a game without them coming down every fucking second I'd be much happier. It's horrible when they're raining on your spawn. * Will someone please explain how to use these? It doesn't seem like they hit THAT often anyway.
- The TOW Missile on the Bradley doesn't work. * There's a vehicle package unlock that gives you the Bradley TOW and the AH64 Hellfire (and I don't think it's available in beta).
- Bunny Hopping Exists. Could we implement some kind of cool down? * Haven't witnessed if this is a problem or not yet.
- Someone weapons reload strangely, user doesn't cock the bolt. * Cocking the shotgun after every reload even when you still have a shell in the chamber is ANNOYING.
- Reloading pistols and SMGs should be quick. Also should be quick to switch to your sidearm - ala MW2. * This isn't MW2.
- The Russian AA Veichle is cool but the main cannon is worthless against anything that isn't a helicopter. Make it like the AH64's cannon. Would increases it's usefulness. * AH64 cannon would be incredibly OP. Have you seen what that thing can actually do with someone who knows what they're doing?
- Poor sights for the Bradely. Bushmaster cannon has so much bullet drop. * Bradley has absolutely terrible drop and spread. They need to tighten this up significantly.
- Steam overlay only works in DX9 Mode. * After I opted into Steam beta my overlay worked (DX10.1).
Gah - don't say that. I have NEVER been able to successfully OC my e8400 - which is absurd because everything I've read tells me that a brain-damaged monkey should be able to do it.
Just bump the FSB and the VCORE didja?
Punkbuster allows this?
you can't strafe while sprinting? i have to use my mouse to run left or right as it won't let me strafe left or right while sprinting
- The TOW Missile on the Bradley doesn't work.

I have a 5770 and as I stated earlier. Running it at 1900x1200 with 4x aa/af everything else on high. I don't know the exact frame rate but for me it is smooth. I turned off bloom but didn't seem to do much. I tried it with HBAO, and while it didn't seem to affect performance a whole lot I could tell it was a touch slower. I also just tried the +fullproc, and that seemed to help a touch.
I'll try to find a way to determine my frame rate and report back, but it's smooth for me(apart from some rubber banding) so I'm happy.![]()
so i finally tried it this morning, things i've noticed:
- you can't strafe while sprinting? i have to use my mouse to run left or right as it won't let me strafe left or right while sprinting
-see below
- there's no crouch or sprint toggle? you have to hold the buttons down to keep crouched or sprinting?
-I agree, annoying as hell. hopefully they can patch this in.
- firing the weapons it feels like i'm hitting them with a bb gun, as it takes almost the whole clip to take someone down, i guess it could be lag tho ?
-figuring that hardcore mode will make it more Rainbow6 damage like. ala W@W
- jumping down high ledges i take no fall damage
-yeah, its sorta nice ala bf2 with the parachute cheats
- even with everything low, the game feels exactly the same as with everything high, it's really slow paced and seems like it takes a second for my movements/firing to register. i lowered my resolution down to 1680x1050, and then 1440x900 and no diff in performance compared to my native 1920x1200
-i was going to suggest a driver update but upon reading further, I dont know, try making a shortcut and adding +fullproc at the end of the target line
- is there any way to get rid of the weapons bobbing? i feel like throwing up in the 30 minutes that i played earlier lol -doubt it, it 'adds realism'. I spend most of my time in sights or sprinting so it doesnt bother me
i realize it's a beta, anyone else seeing this happen?
rig is below and i tried both the 9.12 and 10.1 cats.

Go out to your yard and try sidestepping while you're sprinting. They did this in Brothers in Arms as well as a few other games I've played recently - it's good because it provide a slight disincentive to sprinting - in this way, it should only get used for its intended purpose, being to get from A to B really f'n quick to avoid getting shot.
