Metro has multiple ways of getting around people as well. It is the new metro.

Not nearly as much as this one though. Also Metro was not really multiple ways, each way led to the same place. This one you can bypass cap points.

Sorry for a potentially 'newb' question, but is it still possible to jump into queue for full servers similar to BF3?

Whenever I try to join a full server, I get an error message indicating that the server is full.

I'm hoping I'm just missing something as I really appreciated that BF3 had a queue system instead of forcing me to continually refresh on a server I liked.

Can we play Commander mode on our phones and tablets yet? I don't see the option on my phone and couldn't find anything about this on Google (yes, I am anticipating the snarky link).

Edit: Nevermind, found something about the 11/19 launch.

No queues are active. There is more than that as well, you can't see the current players on a server, how many tickets there are or how many tickets are left, the pages for vehicles/weapons are lacking information compared to BF3 and the gameserver software is missing a lot of functionality that was in BF3 as well.

Really perplexed because the games are very similar. They're missing a lot of features we had in BF3. I have no idea what the story is on all the battlelog stuff missing, but I do know much of the game server functionality will be coming pack with updates to the game server software.

I enjoy BF a lot, but DICE has a terrible track record of not beta testing their games enough before launching them.

Wow. It boggles my mind how developers can omit simple features that they just need to port over from a previous version.

Link?

I forgot this was going to be a feature. Can you use a tablet to play "commander mode" while still running around as a soldier on your PC? GOD DAMN THAT WOULD OWN.

I dunno why, but it pisses me off with the server queue because that's part of what made Battlelog awesome. On the plus side, Joining on friends putting you automatically in the same squad and auto-balancing teams to do it is great. :awe:

Not sure about HT, but this game loves more cores. Here's a screencap of my cpu usage during a 64 player map

Frostbite 3 has always been friendly to MT, but it doesn't look like it's using HT- half your cores look idle.

 Metro was the worst designed map I've ever played in the BF series, all the way back to 1942. Hell, they couldn't even get the starting distances correct. Epic fail.
Campaign was easy and short and don't bother, no end game easter eggs after loooong credits rolling.

They're pretty much forcing you to play SP if you want the weapon unlocks though - I don't think there's any other way to get the the Rex/249/P90 in MP otherwise.

Those features are there, but according to some reddit posts Dice disabled them because they aren't working. One of the reasons I bought Premium was for queue prioritization.

I think they made the core class unlocks too long to unlock. The real med kit takes 100K points. Real ammo bag was at like 60K. Granted, I'm not scoring as well as I'd like (I blame the lag :p), but it feels like grinding. I'm torn between playing the classes I need to unlock stuff, or play situationally. Thing is, you can't situationally use your classes efficiently if you dont have the core kit stuff unlocked.

Finally played a round of obliteration. The round took 42 minutes. Many times our team would pick up the bomb and run to our base. It was funny, but I was escorting this dude who went after the bomb non stop, and people kept pushing with the bomb an dying. This guy died 10m before the plant location, and I picked it up, planted, and won the game. Felt like a 300lb offensive lineman picking up a fumble and running it in for a TD. While that moment was fun, it seemed like the round took too long. Half the people on both teams were typing just let them win already, but the other half was playing like it was the superbowl. Maybe something like 15 or 30 minutes, then its sudden death if its a tie.

Video of greatest ending to an Obliteration game ever recorded! ...that I was a part of. And recorded. I have the fps showing, and I'm using the machine in my sig. Even when I had everything on medium it still performs like this. That on top of the lag makes it hard to play ATM.

So if I'm used to BF3's queue system and little things like that, should I just wait for a sale on BF4 then? I mean, SimField4... ;)

Honestly, unless you have a specific favorite server, the queue thing isn't a big deal. I almost never run into it (but I always search for servers with only 1-5 open slots then sort by ping). Even in BF3, I almost never entered into the queue.

Especially since the same damned thing happened with BF3 as I recall. It took a few weeks until queues were enabled.

Game seems great, the maps are all awesome thus far. Not sure about that Russian winter map in an old prison or military barracks. Seemed absurdly chokepoint oriented but I didn't see much of the map...

Couple server crashes but overall the game runs silky smooth on Ultra 2xAA.

Ditto. I really dislike that Russian "new metro" map. Of course, I hated metro in BF3. This game isnt CoD and I dont like when it tries to be. Everyone just switches to assault and it's a twitch fest, which gets old fast. Yawn.

I found out the hard way that I am very rusty. I havent played BF3 for the better part of 2 years. It is taking me a long time to get my reflexes back and remember controls. I settled down once I got into a tank on a conquest map. Finally inverted my K/D ratio which was awful at first. And I already have upgrades like IR smoke? Interesting.

Because I am lazy - how do you dive/swim deeper on the water levels? I was too busy getting my ass shot off to look it up.

This. I played the beta, and think it was actually more solid than the release. I don't think I've actually gotten through a complete match yet without either the client or the sever crashing. Granted, there are a lot of variables involved on my end (Win 8.1, AMD beta drivers, and a brand new game), but the in game messages seem to indicate many people are having issues. Especially, players complaining about audio cutting out, overall lag, and rubber banding.

Guess since they didn't have co-op they figured they'll tie the guns to SP.

On Flood Zone I dont think you can go deep enough to get in the garage when the level is fully flooded. It seems to stop right before you can get in the ground floor entrance.

Don't forget--use your XP bonuses. Hit ESC when playing multiplayer, and activate one in the lower right corner. Makes grinding way less, especially if you preordered and/or bought premium.

When I hop on and my friends are playing, I don't want to sit there and spam join game. Hopefully this make sit back in.

Another thing I found annoying is trying to kill someone in a vehicle with the default AV missile. Instead of going straight and hitting the guy it does the top down attack on the vehicle and still only does like 20 dmg.

How do you benchmark BF4?
Can you change FOV in BF4?

There's a system test in the video settings area I believe. I haven't tried it, but from what I understand it doesn't currently work and just shows 0fps.

You can show FPS by opening console and entering perfoverlay.drawfps 1

Yes, you can change FOV.
