670SLI, 1080p/Ultra 4X AA
I turn off post effects and motion blur because they smear the image.
I tried that flood map last night for a few minutes, and yeah, it looks really great. FPS is lower on that map as well, kind of like shanghai but not as bad.
Thanks for the info. Yeah, once I get into it, I'll definitely turn off blur.
In case it's not obvious, I'm very close to pulling the trigger on a second 670. Back when BF3 arrived, I immediately picked up a second HD5850, and rode out 8 months of BF3 on Crossfire. It was fast, but it was definitely VRAM limited at Ultra, and had some hitching due to what we now know as frame latency. That's why I'm asking here for thoughts on SLI.
Honestly, so far I think this game is amazing - it fixes so many of the things that we all were upset about in BF3, and of course adds even better graphics. And there's no doubt in my mind that this game is just
smoother. Like Crysis smooth. If you know that game, you know you can play it at 30fps and enjoy it. Maybe its the 64-bit engine, maybe it's better CPU core utilization. I don't know, but it's like butter.
Now if only I could get an RDS in place of that darn default Kobra scope on Assault - I've never been able to hit anything with it.
