hello,

as a highly dedicated battlefield player, we're enlisting you to join the battlefield 4 alpha trial. The purpose of this trial is to perform a number of server-related tests in preparation for game launch, plus to garner your feedback on the new game.

The alpha trial version of the game will be available to download in your origin "my games library" on june 17. The trial will run for two weeks, with the game available for testing between 18:00 - 00:00 cet (09:00 - 15:00 pdt) each day.

You have been specifically selected for this trial because of your experience with the battlefield series, and because you have opted-in to receive all battlefield communications.

Please note that this is a highly tech-focused, white-boxed alpha trial that does not represent final quality of the game. Most of the level textures will be white (except soldiers and vehicles), and performance at this early stage of development will be potentially choppy, with possible issues such as server lag and downtime.

If you choose to join this trial, you must agree to not publicly post information, images or videos from the game, or your impressions of the game itself. We have set up a closed alpha trial forum specifically for this purpose - see below for details.

Hmm no...I should qualify, as I drunkenly bought the BF3 premium pack with the expansions that I never play.

Edit: I missed that it's alpha, which I don't think was guaranteed to me.

os: Vista sp2, win7
windows 8 not supported.
64-bit! 32-bit not supported.
Dx10 or dx11 gpu with 1+ gb of ram,
dx11 highly recommended
25gb free hdd space required
latest origin version required

note that these do not necessarily represent the requirements for the final game.

I only mntioned the Second Assault DLC once, on the first day of E3 and it was most remarkable for being a timed exclusive for the XBox 1. Today I look up the description on th Official site and it says: This Premium expansion pack will feature four of the most fan-favorite maps from Battlefield 3, redesigned to take advantage of our advanced Frostbite 3 engine and enhanced to include new multiplayer features from Battlefield 4.

I hope some CQ maps make it. Or at last similar ones. Sometimes, I don't want to spend 10 minutes running to a point, just to get sniped or tank'd and have to spend another 10 minutes running that marathon back.

That, and, unless there is quite a few people on the server, big maps are no fun.

Seine Crossing and Kharg I'm good with. While I like Damavand a lot, the tunnel is too Metro-y. Torn between Monolith/Palace, but I'd probably throw in Armored Shield too.

But I'd rather just see them bring Atacama Desert back

why do people keep suggesting BF2 maps for the BF3 remakes


we all know metro will be in it, its the most propular bf3 map, we've heard that 100 times from DICE

Oh man... if that is your invite..... I will hunt you down and get that key from your account.....

All I know is that only a select base of active BF3 players were chosen to give very important feedback, since it is a strict closed alpha.

System requirements for the bf4 alpha

Odd, that Win8 is not supported as at E3 they had their commander station on Win8. After the stream ended they had an overhead shot of the area with the commander screen on the Start Window.

They can't invite everybody that played every Battlefield since 1942, that would be too many (me too). My first thought on why I was picked was that I was playing yesterday, the day they picked names. Not that many were playing yesterday. Lot's of empty servers...
I wish I could share it with all of you...
I don't know how much I can play between 9:00 and 15:00 PDT daily. I work 8-5 usually (8:00-17:00 EST). can't wait to see what my wife has planned for me for next Saturday!

I didnt get one! Granted, I haven't played in like a year, but I had at least 300 hours of playtime when I stopped.

Check your origin library also...a lot of people didn't get notices (myself included) but it still shows up in the games library.

They had the list well in advance, you were one of the lucky ones.

I left my gaming PC on with Origin loaded so it could downlload the ALpha but it didn't, I download it when I came home. so I didn't get to play today, I should get a chance tomorrow. it looks like it contains one map, the seige of Shanghai. I learned quite a bit by browsing the Alpha forum this evening.

I watched two videos : "only in battlefield4" and "chopper gunner rampage" or something like that on YouTube by some player who played at E3. Can some1 tell me is chopper gets ammo automatically after 30 Sec or commander giving him. Feels like he got unlimited ammo.

From what I can tell from E3, it had a rocket pod salvo on reserve, but when it ran out it would regen really slowly. I think it is the same for the tanks. Take that with a big grain of salt because that was what I observed on the E3 demo. The current closed alpha could possibly be different or change the future build.
