Also anyone a good attack chopper pilot? I haven't been able to unlock the stuff for it cause I suck at flying choppers.
I play at least a little almost everyday.

With all the crazy AA available I dont see anyone getting great scores with attack helos. The mobile AA and jets that have active radar missiles are impossible to deal with, and when you add the engies using stingers/IGLA's on the ground its hopeless to stay in the air for very long.

Your best bet may to to play the helo only air superiority map, or maybe find a low population server of noobs and go for flags.

As a long time helo pilot, I've switched to attack jets for BF4, active radar missiles are redic, even with ECM. With 30mm + active radar, along side plenty of cover and possibly multiple MAA + infantry AA, you simply can't be as aggressive with the attack helo as I play. There's also no "Below the Radar" perk, so flying low does not prevent locks except when trees break the infantry locks.

Active radar missiles need to just DIAF, there's no need for them (I score top round if I get in an AA, and I use rockets, no AA secondaries).

At this point, you will do more for your team by getting into anything else over the attack helo...even the scout rapes it due to engies repair spam.

If you cant get anywhere in an attack helo then the rest of us mere mortals havent a prayer. 😀
 
I just got this and played for the 1st time yesterday and it's okay.

However trying to play today, it doesn't connect to any servers. Some of them failed at the browser, others launch BF4 but it doesn't show the background screen and after 20 seconds goes back with a generic failed to connect?? Terrible.

Also there seems to be hardly any servers. I was playing BF3 before this and there were way more it seems, at least for Rush which I like to play. Another problem is that half of them have the stupid expansion pack, even though I only have the normal maps selected.
 
I'm sure that most people are in the same boat as me. Give me some DLC and I will start playing again. I haven't had the urge to play since early December.
 
Getting a stupid "disconnected from EAST Online" error every time I try to join. Doesn't matter what server/mode/map.

Off to Planetside 2 for me.
 
I do not understand how they think they can balance the game when the netcode is still completely broken.

How can you decide what is overpowered and what isn't when you seemingly die in one hit 4 out of 5 deaths? It makes no sense at all. Leave the weapons alone for now and fix what's important. The netcode.

I'm also curious as to where the 20mm guns are OP? I played a bit last night to finish off some assignments, and didn't notice any OP vehicles with 20mm weapons.

i hooked up my 360 controller, much easier to fly with it

but yes i basically stopped playing, prob come back when the next maps come out
 
Is it just me, or is battle log the single stupidest fucking idea/interface that I have ever seen in my entire life. Not only is it annoying, but they want me to consume additional resources for this piece of shit. The fuck happened to a normal in game server browser? This was the main reason I stopped playing BF3, now they stuck with this crap for BF4... well time to say fuck BF4.

Because it's light years better than the server browser they had in either BC2 or BF2? Seriously, Battlelog is leaps and bounds better than anything they had before. I'm not buying the resources argument.

No I definitely agree. I think it's gotten worse as of late. I've been killed when on my view I moved behind cover. I'm guessing with interp the other side sees me on a delay.

Anyone else notice sometimes chat takes about 1-2 minutes to push through your message sometimes as well?

UPCOMING VEHICLE TWEAKS

Aircraft and Anti-Aircraft
1) Reduced the total amount of missiles carried by the Mobile Anti-Aircraft vehicles from 6 to 4. The total carried missiles were making it impossible for helicopters to use counter measures to avoid the MAA’s attacks.

2) Reduced the velocity of the MAA’s default 20MM CANNON from 1200m/s to 800m/s to match the 30MM CANNON. This reduction reduces the distance projectiles will travel and should prevent situations where the MAA could engage enemy vehicles without leaving its protected home base. The damage of the cannons remains unchanged, and aircraft, especially helicopters, should remain wary of getting too close to a MAA.

3) Reduced the physical impact of all Anti-Aircraft missiles to prevent helicopters from flipping uncontrollably when hit. The damage values have not been changed.

4) Reduced the cone in which ACTIVE RADAR missiles search for targets, making them require a higher level of skill in predicting where a target will be when the missile is fired. The missiles were previously too easy to aim at long range, making them a guaranteed hit and a clear advantage over the other missile types.

5) Increased the direct damage done by the Attack Helicopter’s gunner cannon. The gunner will be better able to assist the pilot in taking down vehicle targets with this change.

6) Increased the direct hit damage of the Zuni Rockets for Attack Helicopters. The rate of fire of these rockets combined with their smaller magazine pool made them a poor choice over the other two rocket types.

7) Reduced the splash damage and maximum splash damage range of the Scout Helicopter 25MM CANNONS. These weapons were too effective against infantry with a higher splash, making them a clear choice over the 7.62 MINIGUNS in all combat situations. The 25MM CANNONS are intended to give the Scout Helicopter some measure of effectiveness against vehicles, at a clear trade off in effectiveness vs. infantry.

Tanks and Anti-Tank
1) Reduced the “intelligence” of the MBT LAW missiles, requiring the player to aim the missile closer to their target before the smart projectile will activate. Additionally, the MBT LAW now reloads slightly slower. This keeps the MBT LAW in its role of an easy to use, fire and forget weapon available to all Engineers, while also balancing it with the other rocket launchers in favor of skilled AT shots. Finally, a bug where the MBT LAW would pass through an ACTIVE PROTECTION shield has been fixed.

2) Fixed an issue where ACTIVE PROTECTION and the MP-APS did not properly stop 12G FRAG rounds.

3) Reduced the range where the M2 SLAM will do maximum damage to vehicles from 6M to 3M. Players will now need to be craftier when placing the M2 SLAM in order to get the full damage potential of this ambush anti vehicle weapon. This change is to primarily counter a tactic of placing 3 mines in the same spot to guarantee a kill on any vehicle passing within 6m. The range was deemed to be too large, making the M2 SLAM far superior to the M15 AT MINE.

4) Reduced the damage the STAFF shell does to all targets by 25%. This should balance the ease of use of the STAFF shell with its damage potential.
 
Wow, some pretty significant nerfing of anti air. I knew it would happen because pilots are such whiney bitches 😛 They can't stand taking a few deaths to their several dozen kills.

Well, now I'm afraid it's going to be air rape all over again like previous BFs.

The other changes sound great.
 
they really just need to make it so jets are really ineffective agains inf, and itll fix a lot of those "air rape" issues. the dive bombs to instant turns that defy physics need to stop

jets should be effective against jets and helos, and mildly against land vehicles if running a guided rocket or something but thats it

BF server browsers were pure garbage, I hope to never see anything like them ever again!

Ive grown to love Battlelog with all its stat tracking, news, forums, and friends lists all in one convenient package. If your PC cant keep a browser open while you play a game, I dont know how you could possibly run BF3 or 4 to begin with.
