Because close to no one cares about it.

Keep fighting the good fight my man!

Woah there. I care about true audio. I really care about audio quality, now I can have that quality plus better effects.

Also, I find in amazing how some posters here are sure only DICE will be using it. Just cause activision (lol) and Carmack didn't know about it doesn't mean companies like Codemasters and Square Enix didn't. Those are some of AMD's main partners and Square Enix make a crap load of games. Good ones too.

Also, please stop stating it as fact that AMD paid EA to use Mantle? If you insisnt on saying it over and over, then cite a source cause this is getting rediculous and a little sad.

I like how you see yourself standing separated from this, because it's only from there that you can conclude that no one gives a damn about directional audio

I came to that conclusion after reading nothing (articles, forum posts, etc...) about it since the big reveal at AMD's event.

Sorry, I make conclusions based on what I see, not what my heart tells me!

So every article and forum post you read about it was someone saying they didn't care about it ?Wow!

If that was true like I said; why would one of the biggest games of 2014 bother to use it say.......Thief 4.....

Oh yea they are.....and if you watched; they are damn excited by it along with most of the industry.

Audio has been one of the massive sticking points in gaming for a long time now.....along with not able to code to the metal.

Both are being brought by AMD.....this is pushing gaming; would I like to see Nvidia use it; hell ya; means better games; more visuals; faster games.....will they...up to them. But when Mantle is open to all I think a lot will say they are wrong.

The next year is going to be interesting

The thing about Audio is that you need the hardware, and really, only hardcore people have full audio systems on their setup/room.

Go to a movie theater, imagine gaming like that! *drools*

If I understand it correctly, you don't need any new hardware apart from a new 290, cause it's mainly the proccesing that changed. Sure, getting better speakers or a sound card will add to it, but you don't need it to take advantage of truaudio.

Considering that its Audio...it should take longer to "prove". But, again, considering that its Audio. Most of us, I would expect and understand that realistic audio is awesome.

I know, it can be used, but for best results, real results, one would need more speakers, no?

So armed with absolutely nothing, you concluded that nobody cared about it?

Yeah, I get it

If people cared, they would talk about it. No?

I don't see how this is so hard to understand.

Look how many threads we have on Mantle - a ton.

Look how many threads we have on the upcoming cards - a ton.

Look how many threads we have on TrueAudio - none.

I didn't say nobody cared, I said close to nobody. Are you standing next to someone named "Nobody"? Then maybe you care!

OK, I said I got it

"Close to nobody cares"

Mantle is for Mid Range PCs not Ultra end.People who have 7970s(3) or Gtx 780s or Gtx 680s wont see that much difference and maybe about 5 to 7% not much more.

I think that's actually the opposite.

AMD's goal is be the first choice when you think about gaming, nothing less.

And because BF4's Mantle path is faster then the DX11 path (https://twitter.com/repi/status/387582507710828546), AMD will have some impressive FPS# to show.

It may(!) help mid-range PCs, that would just be a "side effect".

So people taking sides before seeing it.
(True audio)
We haven't even seen what it is, much less anything beyond a bullet point on a marketing slide. Isn't it a little biased to declare it a success or failure at this point much less claim people don't care?

I'm interested in it but I won't be expecting much and if it's nothing special I'm sure it'll just be a passing fad.

Mantle and audio are what they had to push, because re-branding and "meh" performance after a 2 year wait isn't sexy to most people.

Watch the video in 720P and put your headphones on and turn it up. Fast forward the video to the best part @ 3:25. Newspaper never sounded so freaky..😵

WTF!? I was like: "GTFO from my Home" at the start of the video.

Now the newspaper...so confusing. You know nothing is there, it is just youtube video, but still your head turns around to see wtf is going on. Thanks for sharing!

LOL 😀 I let my wife try it out and she got freaked. It's a very weird feeling when he rips the paper and it sounds like it's right behind you.

Sounds immersive. It'll be fun to try it in a supported game.

Agreed. I think a freaky survival horror type game would be cool.

They should forbid combining this with oculus rift... That would be a quick way to shit your pants 😛

Not for anything, but we've had really really good audio for at least a decade and a half now.

I was using integrated sound and had very few chances to hear asus xonar audio card, which to me, only enchanted low tones. This on the other hand is deep 3d sound I could hear in cinema (last time I was in cinema 2 years ago, and once 2 years before that... and maybe once more?). I can't recall that d3 sound effect in games.
