I've got everything tweaked as far as I can. The CPUs are running on their Winter OC's (3.45GHz) and I've got all 4 video cards running with their shaders at 1900MHz !!! (apparently, that is the magic number for all of my G92 based cards. I don't have the thermal headroom for raising volts and anything over 1.9GHz starts giving me the rare EUE here and there)
I've been getting clobbered with the 511 point GPU work units, but at the same time I'm starting to see a few of the 1760 point SMP work units
It's a close race and I'm loving it.

Another disadvantage for linux: No software for overclocking just the shaders.
I tried bumping up the core clock on my GTX+ (stock 738 MHz) to 800 and start getting EUEs so now I'm trying 780 which should be around 1900 MHz on the shaders. Time will tell.
Sid, will your son be home for xmas?

I'm afraid my son will still be trapped away at Great Lakes (boot camp) for the Christmas Holiday. He graduates on Jan 15th and will get Cinderella liberty for the following weekend. I'm going to go up there (Chicago) and take a cheesy little plastic tree and his presents and we'll have our Christmas then.
good to hear you will get some time with your son before he heads overseas!![]()
As to the overclocks, I found that (with fans at 80%) I could run (very) nearly EUE free with my GTX+ core at 790 (they're already clocked pretty close to the edge for a G92 at stock) before I learned it was OK to unlink it. Can you take manual control of the fans in Linux?

Just received my new Intel Q9550 from Newegg. Granted, it's only replacing an X2 5200+, but should still be a bit of a boost once I get her online....

OK, put 2 smp clients on that baby, and you are good for 4400 ppd ! The x2 5200 was lucky if you got 1200 ppd, right ? We need all we can get, as we are loosing 10-20k ppd/day.
I don't see why not as long as you don't enable SLI, though I'm no expect so best wait for an educated answerOriginally posted by: MaskedAvenger
Thanks for the input Markfw900.
It turned out that I was using -gpu2 when I should have been using -gpu1.
Anyways, the second card is up and running.
Does anyone know if an 8800GT can run with a 9800 Gx2 card in the same PC?![]()
