Thanks Peter for the stats!

Great to see that the folders has won a couple of days. But all in all, everyone is a winner in this race!
Go Folders! :D

And VirtualLarry, We here in Mn. are gearing up for more snow on top of the snow we have been getting for the last 3 weeks or so. Seems all I have been doing is plowing my driveway.....:disgust:

Great Job Folders and TAS team!

I'm moving my quad cpus over to WCG for the race against |H|OCP.

My GPUs will still be crunching F@H so my ppd will decrease to 14-15 K per day.

Peter, any chance you can re-balance the teams?

Sorry TAS teamates but I guess I'd rather lose to Anandtech teamates than |H|OCP. ;)

Well, biodoc, the teams are frozen. So rebalancing will only be done if and only if a majority of both teams agree on that.
Somebody else would have to put up some kind of poll and administer it - and how to know that only the racers vote, I do not know ...

Better let it be.
The fun is more important to most than the race.
The fact that science benefits a lot is also very important.
The WCG-project is important too.

IMHO, no matter how we do things, we all win. Some may be more disappointed (the less producing team in F@H) others do it for the fun.

Damn GPU client!, I've just installed it & got it running & it trashed both my SMP WUs! Grrrrr :|
I think it may of partly been cos its mach ID was 2, same as my second SMP, but why did it trash both WUs??.
I've stopped 1 SMP client anyway, but the other one's had to start from scratch after it lost its 68% completed WU :(.

 Sounds more like a chair:keyboard interface issue to me

But seriously, when you are running two SMP clients at once, they do interract with each other.

Other issues you can see with dual SMP operation is that you cannot shut down the window using Cntrl^C or the X in the corner. As it is shutting down it will trash the other one most times. => To stop folding dual SMPs, do a normal windows shutdown with them running. This way, you will (almost) never loose one.

You already learned about the machine ID issue. Yes, they really do have to be set to different IDs like the instructions say.

Hang in there big guy. You'll have that puppy smokin' in no time.

I'm BACK!

7500 ppd total is not good enough for my quads.

16500 ppd on FAH sounds good to me!:)

PLUS, feeling really guilty for leaving my TeAmmates is not a good thing for the holiday season. ;)

My internet connection is out a lot today (big snow storm with more to come tomorrow), so my produciton could be down a bit and I may not be able to post as much :)laugh:) which is good for you guys!;)

If it was my post that caused any feeling of regret, please accept my sincere apology for that. I really was just playing around.

I want you (and anyone else who's listening) to know I am privledged to be on this TeAm and whether you crunch for this race or another, you are tops in my book.

But of course :music: :music:  :music: :music: I'm really whistlin' about your decision. :D

:p to Sid

I thought that the GPU client would give me a chance to setup the machine ID on setup, it didn't :p, then it trashed my 2 SMP WUs. Doh!

On another issue it looks like running F@H on my GPU is going to be a waste of time :(, FaHmon is showing ~2000 ppd for the GPU & ~1935 ppd for the remaining SMP client.
If it stays like that then it means I'm gaining 0 ppd with an extra 60w power draw!!
With 2 SMPs I was getting ~3400-4200 ppd.

Btw my new grx card is a Radeon HD 4830 which is about 20% slower than an HD 4850.

Not an issue at all Sid!
A round of :beer:s for everyone!:p

It was a bad decision on my part. I had forgotten that the teams were frozen so by moving my quad cores to another race would have completely borked our chances in this race.:(

As of 5AM EST:

3145918____Folders
3108470____TAS

Folders in the lead by 37448 points!

Looks like we lost a bit of ground because of my "short vacation". ;)

well something sure happened to my boxes. One SMP hung, one machine, the ethernet card hung for some reason(2 gpu and an smp), and one machine shut down altogether (very odd, 2 gpu and one smp).

So I have no idea how many thousands of points I lost overnight.

Looks like I got my maths slightly wrong earlier, extra power drawing for running F@H on the GPU is just under 40w & some GPU WUs give me ~2500ppd, so I will run it on that for the race just I can try & catch that pesky FMC!;).
However for any longer term running I don't think it's worth the extra cost.

Those pesky Folders

I've been playing with clocks all day and have managed to get my PPD up to very nearly what it was before I sold the Opty PC. (I had to. It was my son's and he needs the $$ and will have little need for a desktop PC in the middle of the Indian Ocean)

C'mon TAS folks........ warm those cold rooms up!

That almost sounds like power fluctuations to your house getting all of the comps as it did.

Thanks for the stats Peter!

I have the exact same numbers for TAS but many of the Folders numbers are lower than mine.

Maybe one of us got caught in an update? Anyway, it's a pretty tight race considering both teams have crunched more than 6 million points!!!:thumbsup:
