Tried to buy in earlier when the CT was announced, but kept missing my target price as it moved up and up. I hate that.

Now in a place where you wonder if it's at a top and wait for a pullback, or just jump in and hope to continue the ride.

Overall I think they've got their problems worked out and they are about to really catch gear as a production company.
I bought more stock and options on that Cybertruck announcement pullback. I didn't catch the absolute low but that's ok because in the big picture, small difference in price is not going to matter much. And whether the current price is top or not won't matter in the long run because Tesla is going much higher. Like Apple and Amazon higher.

Yeah, overall I think they are going in a good direction and stabilizing some of the issues they've had in the past (poor production.) Lt I think they will do well.

Why do I get the feeling @Blackjack200 is never going to show his face in this thread again? :D
As years go by, he's going to look dumber and dumber if that's possible.

Jesus Christ dude, you posted this on Christmas?

What do you think I'm afraid of? Nothing has changed, still an unprofitable company led by an odious asshole and being propped up by insane amounts of idiotic investment. This whole episode is a good example of why I don't play the stock market. You can be 100% right and still lose your money. I'm no fan of Bill Ackman, but he was right about Herbalife and it didn't matter, he still lost huge on his short.

Never heard of following the herd huh? Logic and stocks don't mix because people are involved.

@Blackjack200 :D

Musk has now made money on his SEC fine. He paid $20M for the fine, and bought $20M in stock at $282/share to 'pay' Tesla's $20M fine. That stock is now worth over $40M at yesterday's close.

Or we should tax the shit out of him because he's still going to be super rich. We shouldn't be waiting for rich tech bros to shower society with their golden philanthropy in the hopes that it may help society overall in the future.

Furthermore, we actually have existing technology and solutions that can be brought to bear to fix a lot of transit related problems, we as a society just choose to subsidize the least efficient means of travel - the personal automobile.

Well if he invested it in another company then it wouldn't be taxed. Its almost like trickle down works the opposite way the chuds tell us it happens.

Well if it is going to new or existing businesses it is sort of trickle down. But yea of course taxation.
Its just the only place on earth I see someone filthy rich doing something with the doe worth while. On that note had Elon not invested his personal fortune into the day to day operations of Tesla there would be no Tesla.
Not true. Bill Gates is on a good run as well on his old days.

There's no question in my mind Elon Musk will be the richest person on earth in couple of years. He's going to blow past Jeff Bezos and never look back. But if you think Musk is just doing it to be rich, you don't know Elon Musk. He has said repeatedly he will be the last person to sell Tesla stock. And the only reason he will sell Tesla shares at that point is so he can fully fund the Mars colonization mission.

If you want to learn about Elon Musk, I recommend you watch this video. I haven't watched it yet but that's because I already know his story because I've read the book and pretty much read/watched everything he's said.

Only 130%? ;) I'm up over 900% on my Tesla position since the June 2019 low. :p Of course I'm using margin and options to supercharge my Tesla return. And no, I'm not selling either. Not until Tesla is trillion dollar company. So Tesla stock price has to hit $5,500 for me to sell my entire position.

:D Thanks! Yes, I'm happy and celebrating tonight. But this is just the beginning. Tesla is just a baby. Even with tonight's move, Tesla is just barely over $100 billion in market cap. Tesla is going to be over $1 trillion dollar company before end of 2030. In 15-20 years, Tesla will be bigger than Apple and the most valuable company in the world. So while $650 is great now, I won't be truly happy until TSLA is over $5,000. But baby steps. I'm highly confident Elon and Tesla will get there by end of this decade.

This is my TSLA positions tonight on this trading account. 1,100 shares and couple leap calls and covered calls.
b8uR4odh.jpg

I sold off 8 Feb 21 $500 calls I wish I could get back but I bought it to sell before earnings. So being disciplined and sticking with the game plan costed me extra $50k in potential profit. Oh well. Can't cry over profit. I've made over $600,000 trading TSLA on this trading account the past 6 months and close to million dollars in all 3 of my portfolios on TSLA. But like I said, I expect TSLA to eventually be trillion dollar company. So I'm in this for the long term even though I trade around my core position on this account.

Meanwhile, how many billions have the idiot shorts lost betting against TSLA over the years? TSLAQ crowd are so stupid and people like @Blackjack200 will never learn the most important lesson. Never bet against Elon. The guy lands rockets on boats out in the middle of the ocean and you think you're smarter than him or works hard as him? Do your own research instead of just following the idiot TSLAQ crowd like a lemming.

All the shorts getting squeezed is what was making me nervous of the sustainability (in the short term) of the huge run up.

I bought a small amount of 20 shares at around $420 (quit fking around with limit orders and just put in a market) then punked out and sold when it was around $500 and waivering.

Made a quick couple bucks, but I'm was still hoping for a pull back to get a better entry point.
Ugh, but it keeps moving up and up...

Around the CT announcement I put in that limit order for 60 shares around $325, chased it up to $350, but never cought it.

My screwing around cost me $18k and counting, but I prolly would have still punked out and sold early regardless. Lol.

If you think about what if and past regrets, you'll drive yourself crazy. Nothing goes up straight forever. TSLA will sell off. TSLA is very volatile. But I expect any sell off to be short lived unless the macros turn really negative and the entire market sells off. This run up was partially short covering but I believe most of it was big institutions buying new positions. The big boys are finally starting to believe in Tesla story and they can do simple financial model that shows what many of the retail investors already know. Tesla is growing 50%+ a year and is about to print money. Their growth is going to be so insane this decade. They're growing way faster than Amazon ever did when it was at similar valuation to Tesla.

This was Amazon crazy run that really started in 2012-2013 in the $200.
g3FdLh5l.jpg

I think Tesla will do around $8-12 EPS this year. They'll likely do $16+ next year. TSLA is growing at a rate very few big companies ever did. It's absolutely insane. With such high short interest, I wouldn't be surprised if TSLA goes above $1,000 this year. TSLA future is crazy bright. Now the big institution whales are finally waking up and seeing the potential and want piece of it. They're not getting my shares. I'm going to be in there with them and accumulating as many shares to hold as possible. Tesla is once in generation company and opportunity. I just can't believe some people are blind to this.

All three of high companies are future oriented and will be cornering their respective markets(future mass transit, space exploration, and battery packs with a side of EVs).

Now that it seems out of the woods, Tesla is well positioned for the next few years, especially since it's a Silicon Valley company competing against auto industry dinosaurs who are facing the canonical Innovator's Dilemma. I think at some point once the EV market is established it will get more competitive, since barrier to entry is much lower with electric cars due to simplicity, less expertise needed and fewer environmental and regulatory hurdles. Then we are going to see big boys like Google enter with self driving cars and such and who knows what will happen.
But at $115B market cap, if you compare it to similarly valued peers, it has far more societaly important technology than most, maybe you can argue it's similar to tech peer Qualcomm in importance now, but on a higher growth trajectory.

Up to $750 today.

Man I Fd this up. :sob:
Still only $136 billion market cap. I'm telling you Tesla is headed to minimum $1 trillion. There will be stock splits along the way but at $1 trillion market cap, Tesla stock will be around $5,500. Before end of this decade, Tesla is going to hit that and more.

I'm not selling at this low level. I plan to buy more.

Yeah, I do believe that it has a high ceiling. I started up another small position at a level that's very disappointing from what I meant to do, but oh well. Crying about it won't bring it back.

I'll be waiting for a pullback to avg down, but man, if only I had just strongly committed at the CT announcement...

I had set myself up with a significant cash position last spring to be ready to seize some opportunities, esp after Trump started showing he would fold on the trade wars (eg the empty threats to Mexico last May.) I had previously did well buying into the dip last Dec during the shutdown (eg AAPL @$150-160 I'm still holding.)

What's so annoying is that I did well to get into position, but then fumbled the ball when it came. I didn't lose any money, but could have made so much more. This volatility gets me jumpy.

Let me tell you a story. I once bought lot of Apple stock when it was only worth $4 billion dollars. It wasn't just little bit. At today's shares, it would've been 210,000 shares. I sold those Apple shares to buy a restaurant after I made little money on it. That was over $60 million mistake on my part. It's because I didn't fully believe in Steve Jobs and Apple. I can't get those Apple shares back. But I believe I found another great leader and company in Tesla. I truly believe Tesla will be the largest company in the world in the next 20 years. This time I'm not throwing away my lottery ticket. In Musk I trust.

For every story like that, there are also a thousand others where people did trust CEOs who turned out to be snakes and got wiped out.
