hmm she had to have worked with dell :p the "business" one where you only get dumb americans instead of dumb foreigners :p

"Computer consultant" = data entry clerk staffed through a temp agency.

and the difference is? they still give a pre-recorded response :p

As a show, the pace of the questions are way too slow. Turned off the first episode about 2/3 through and only watched a few minutes since.

Its funny in some ways to see people miss easy basic stuff. though I'll admit I had no clue what gross was on the online thing. I never use the term before.

I agree some of the questions are stupid and most people unless you're filled with useless knowledge or the question happens to be something you take interest to you have no clue. Like as some mentioned before what constellation is the the big dipper in.

The kids are simply memorizing the answers by reviewing days before the show.... so they are confident and look smart. It's kind of like getting a paper cert. Lousy execution imho.
Couldn't the contestant do the same?

I would think this show wouldn't last long because of its slow pace, but then again look at Deal or No Deal. It's slow paced and really has no redeeming value. At least this show has comedic value.

those questions are easy as nuts...

tonight's show had a question about what species of bear is the biggest... well, that's was a dumbass question because it's debatable. it's arguably either the kodiak or polar bear. i said kodiak and the show said polar bear... i looked it up online and, sure enough, it's either kodiak or polar bear.

I watched a little bit last night and a little bit tonight. Those people have to be actors. No one could really be that stupid, can they?!

It's kinda funny that a couple of you were actually excusing the guy for not knowing that polar bears live at the North Pole and penguins live in antactica (as well as other places.) What? You don't ever read the news?? Every time I turn around, there's another story about how the polar ice sheet is melting and the polar bears don't have any place to go... And, there's been some sort of national obsession lately with penguins... Movies about penguins, etc.

Then again, perhaps we can blame it on the coca-cola commercials that feature both penguins and polar bears. Some of you will believe anything you see on a commercial. :p :)

What a stupid show. I can't believe people actually watch this cr*p. I mean come on. When you get older stupid questions like, what is the suffix of unsuccessfully is not something that really concerns you. You actually have a life and as you get higher and higher up in education you get bombarded by stuff like derivatives of functions or the specific heat of the solution or how to code a program. Of course people are not going to be able to do things 5th graders are going to do. It's like how 5th or 6th graders can do a timed test for multiplication faster than a 12th grader. It's because the standards have changed.

Agreed. The show is slow, the contestants seem like actors, and the questions are ridiculously easy. "How many teaspoons are in 5 tablespoons?" Seriously, who doesn't know 3*5?

Do you know why they teach you prefixes and suffixes in elementary school? So you can break a word down and try to figure out what it means if you haven't seen it before. Same reason you learn greek and latin roots. Knowing prefixes and suffixes is likely to help you in life. Derivatives of functions... not so for most people.

But who really cares if the questions are applicable to life? I think that's just something people say to excuse themselves for not knowing the answers. How applicable are the questions on Jeopardy to your daily life? Trivial Pursuit? Not very.

3*5 is easy .... Knowing that 1 tablespoon=3 tea spoons is the tough part...

Hey anyone know how a camouflaged Lamborghini looks like :p

You guys see the kids adjust their earpieces?

For some reason I actually thought the kids knew the answer. It sucks now that I know they're being fed the answers.

I didn't notice that... but if they were going to do that, don't you think it would be easier (and less obvious) to just tell them the answers ahead of time?

the show has a sweet spot in the lineup, but the stupidity of it makes it impossible to watch.
