Oh look another brycejones liberal I'm a fake Christian post. Why are you attacking me and them? When have I ever complained about statists?

Can we soon look forward to your idiotic rants about being a Christian and supporting obama?

Wow.....just wow. I hope you recognize the advisary's work on your heart before it is to late.

Truth be told I feel pity for you. You seem to have so much hate in your heart.

Republicans also screw the young the same way as democrats. How else do you think we ended up with student debt inflation some 5X times the overall rate of inflation. You dont get that without bipartisan support.

And let's not forget that Romneycare was the template for Obamacare and that's what we would have gotten if Romney had been elected.

So I continue to argue that its not obama or liberalism or socialism or Bush or republicans that have caused all these problems for young people. What causes the problem is the fact that so many people still think that these two parties are opposed to each other and fight for their constituents. So many people are just woefully unable to use their imaginations for 5 seconds to visualize democrats fighting against romneycare, threatening to shut down the government if token portions are not repealed. As long as that lack of vision continues, there will be no political solution to these problems.

I don't foresee acceptance of someone with a pre-existing condition changing regardless of how things shake out in the end. But I think the harsh reality is going to be how that condition is dealt with. The current program provides insurance. Coverage? Well, that's another matter entirely. The pie is only so big and tens of millions of new folks will be sharing it. We're not all going to get an equal length stick.

It comes down to supporting the legislation based on assumptions or reality. We're all making assumptions but few if any know the reality. Given that we're being lied to incessantly right now, I'm really hesitant to think that there's a pony under this pile of shit.
What is truly fascinating in that you get so whipped into a frenzy about a few lies coming from Democrats but lovingly swallow the mountains of horseshit the Republicans feed you on a daily basis.

You know what I'm going to relish? Working hard, living my life, watching society getting more liberal, more fair, and watching sociopaths like you slowly lose your sanity in your rage and frustration. It'll be sweet knowing that assholes like you are living off my tax charity(which is what you've admitted you'll be using.) Even a heart attack or high blood pressure from the outrage as you see society change in ways that you hate won't end your torment. Yup, public healthcare will ensure that you will stay alive LONG to see all your blasted social conservative and sadistic fuck-everyone fiscal policies crumble one by one.

---> a very successful socially liberal millenial.
So much hate. No outrage here btw...just calling them as I see see them. He fancies himself as being exceptionally intelligent which actually surprised me....but his arrogance did not go unnoticed. Which brings me to you...do you have skin in this game? If so, what's your beef?

In other words...you don't know me...yet your post is so full of hatred as if I've touched a nerve with you personally. I don't get it. Please explain.

I know narrow minded selfish geezers like him and they're a drain on society. If I went over to his house it'l be to spit on his face.
Yikes...he was talking about me! I missed this earlier.

I'm speechless. Are millenials in general really that angry towards older people....or just those who happen to have differing opinions?

Depending on how you define the term I could be considered a millennial (although I would be about as old a millennial as you can get). I don't know many people who are as angry as this guy apparently is though. Not cool.

I guess it's to be expected when a thread starts with such a complete rage flameout that it might attract similarly angry people, but it's still pretty gross to see.

You must not read much of what he posts. He actually is that stupid or just playing so.
I was just jabbing him a little. He's obviously not stupid...but just he made a sweeping generalization that was pretty damn stupid in my opinion. I was hoping he might think about what he said. Instead I was surprised to learn just how exceptionally intelligent he thought he was and I'm now hoping he would share details.

You have to consider their education. When I was a young guy people were marching in the streets to end our involvement in Vietnam, preaching to make love, not war and to turn on, tune in and drop out.

Not much has changed today. Young people are basically still fighting for the same shit. The difference is that instead of getting a more well rounded education, they got a one-sided lopsided education. You really can't blame them. They soaked up what was poured into their skulls the same as students before them without knowing any better.

The other difference is that instead of being taught the satisfaction of self-reliance and individual accomplishment, they've been taught that a sense of well-being is only attainable through the efforts of the collective. They are very upset to find that the world is not functioning the way they were taught it should. Frustrated that it isn't happening fast enough. As the author implies, they thought they were taught critical thinking skills but it was really just indoctrination.

Well, we were all young once. Some grow up to have a more mature outlook and others don't. No change there through the ages.

I've said this before. The results of Democrat rule and Republican rule vary only by the degree of lunacy. But it's important to understand when you are being promised something that can't be achieved. It's important to understand the true nature of the candidate that is making you those promises. Critical thinking indeed.

The author is not writing about Obamacare as several here believe. His message is far broader. Understand that message and you may just prosper. Ignore it and accept the consequences of your own actions. Grow up to at least that extent. Please.

I was hoping he was an outlier...but it does seem to me that we have more than a few millenials here who think in a similar fashion. Although we disagree at times, I've never thought of you has a millenial as you've always presented yourself as well-reasoned and very intelligent...enough so as to not to wallow in simple-minded derogatory stereotypes that are so common among millenials here.

Well I was born in 1980 so I tend to find myself a little too young to be Gen X and a little too old to be a millennial. I'm truly a man without a country. As for millennials, I don't think they are any less well reasoned or less intelligent than any other generation. People have a tendency to complain about the Damn Kids These Days with every generation. (There's a famous quote from Socrates complaining about how crappy kids were back around 400 BC)

As an interesting note, Gen X is actually the first generation to be on average worse off than their parents, not the millennials. Considering the author of the link in the OP is part of Gen X this makes his rant particularly incoherent. Something tells me that he won't blame HIS generation's politics for that income decline, however.

You attacked me for no reason and you have some weird obsession with me following me around. I have no hatred. It's just that I am very passionate about liberty and I strongly voice my views.

Which part is mindless? The part where I point out that Democrats are fighting to make sure you keep your SS and Medicare in place for when you retire since you paid into the system your whole life while Republicans are trying to reduce or eliminate them?

No...the mindless part is that you don't think conservatives care about SS/Medicare and the part where you don't realize that reform is needed to assure that you get reasonable benefits when you retire after paying into the system your whole life. The system in its current state is not viable long-term. Why is this so fucking hard to understand?

He has no message. That entire article might as well be a recording of a baby crying. Guess what, nobody cares.

This is a ridiculous argument because A) This system you claim isn't viable has been in operation for nigh 80 years and hasn't had any issues and B) The GOP seems to worry a lot about a system breaking down and them losing money vs the entire world falling into chaos because we DESTROYED it!

How can you possibly justify your faux concern for your "grandchildren" when you're happy to destroy the entire world they live in so you can drive a bigger, faster SUV?

The truth is you couldn't care less about anybody who exists after you because you're selfish and are in reality only concerned with the ~8% of your income that might go to SS and Medicare/aid. That 8% is worth killing over to you, because it represents the difference between an Expedition and an Escalade, and what person could possibly live with an Expedition!?!

Well I'm sorry to inform you that statistically it's a near guarantee I'm smarter than you. In fact, based on the number of posters in AT, I'm smarter than all but about 15 of them.

BWAHAHA, you progressive leftist are so full of yourselves it's fucking hilarious!!!! Please tell us more about how you know you're smarter than thousands of people you've never met, it's great stuff, you should take it on the road.

Who cares? By the time that happens, we'll be old, and we can just blame the youth, take their money and write insane rants on the internet about how irresponsible the youth are being. Class warfare is for suckers; generational warfare is where it's at.
