Texans had a disappointing season. Like usual. But Kubiak is gone now. We'll see what this year has in store.

Mississippi hasn't been mentioned yet? Alabama's state motto is "Thank god for Mississippi." Or it should be.

I've spent time in both and, at least, Mississippi has casinos. Beer containers cannot exceed .75L in AL. That's right. Zero kegs, zero 40s, zero fun. 26 of the 67 counties are dry. State is the only place allowed to sell spirits. Hard cap on alcohol content for beer and wine. Yeah... Mississippi wins in every category except education.

I can't stand people who live in Texas or their pride. It is one of the worst places to live. No one cares that you live in Texas. A lot of Texans think they are all that. It is full of people with backwards logic.

Soooo what happened that made you feel this way??

Going to go with Arizona here, not just because of the intense horror of the bad hot weather in the vast majority of the state, but because of the overabundance of legal persecution of minorities. All this garbageshit homophobia and profiling and picking on immigrants. Every state has it's ups and it's downs... but, I don't know if anything else comes close to approaching the horror of Arizona.

Don't knock them. Texas has Walker, Texas Ranger. And Hank Hill. In a Civil War 2 "Jericho" type situation, Texas' alignment will be the deciding factor in the war.

Meh.. give it time. Texas has alot of value in their location and resources. The inbred hicks are a dying breed, and with the influx of liberals and immigrants, it won't be long until texas is a blue state.

Wow NJ hate is strong in this thread.

Ignore our top 5 GDP per capita, our top 5 education system, never being above rank 48 in federal funds received per capita, typically rank 2 or 3 in federal taxes paid per capita, one of the largest agricultural outputs per square mile. Awesome outdoor activities between shore/Delaware river water gap/pine barrens/heights/etc.

I know... I know.. MTV Jersey Shore & The Turnpike are hard to look past.

I left AL about a year and a half ago, and it hadn't been overturned. Unless it happened recently. They finally overturned a law that you couldn't import liquor or beer into the state.

No, just no. Texans wanted slavery and to steal land from the Mexicans. That is what they fought for, greed, nothing else. There was no virtue in the creation of Texas.

this. same thing happened in hawaii and more or less all of america

Sam Houston was strongly anti slavery and opposed mistreatment of Indians (his second wife was Cherokee). He certainly favored independence from Mexico, but I dunno if that's stealing land or not. Other leaders of the republic weren't quite so humanitarian of course.

then sam houston was a good man

otherwise the history of texas started with american settlers coming into mexican territory. not sure if the mexicans encouraged them first but eventually they wanted the american settlers out and the settlers would not go anywhere and in fact more kept coming in.

still not as bad as the outright theft of hawaii by businessmen and the marines

Your history is wrong. After Mexico took possession of Texas (and Mexico) from Spain, they said, if and when Texas was read, they could become their own state. Mexico encouraged all settlers to come to Texas to help with the hope it would help control the Comanche raids their government couldn't. Eventually, they outlawed settlers from the United States and started heavy taxation on Texas residents. This caused Texas (with both Mexican and white settlers) to revolt. After they won their independence, the Texas congress repelled the Mexican ban on slavery, but allowed any slaves freed to by their masters to be free.

Hawaii was annexed with people from Hawaii participating. I think they eventually ended up opposing it, but we did it anyway. After they had been a territory for awhile, they then had a political climate change and wanted to become a state.

that is the exact same thing i said

whether or not a few people in hawaii sided with the takeover does not mean that the kingdom of kawaii was for it

This is pretty much incorrect. If I remember, the only ones pushing for it were the white sugar cane plantation owners who wanted a better trade deal with the US and overthrew the monarchy.

What. The. Fuck. Wow.

Anyways, I'm surprised no one has mentioned Florida. All the worst news I hear about is from Florida. Plus sinkholes.

The guy who mentioned rednecks being a dying breed is wrong though. Texas is littered with small communities of uptight Christians and trashy people outside of the major cities. They live all their lives there and raise their children (or don't) to be like themselves.
