Honestly I think the best solution would be to do away with the gender designations and sort everyone into teams based on skill. Let each school have 2-3 teams and let the coach choose the players for each team based on whatever criteria they see fit. Everyone gets to play with people near their own skill level. But for that to work we would have to remove the ultra-competitiveness of some sports.

The only people bothered by trans athletes are the people they beat, and their parents. Everyone else is just trying to be virtuous because it sounds great and doesn't affect them personally. Can you imagine the reaction of a parent sitting on a hot bleacher seat that has their young girl trounced by a boy playing dress up during a track meet on a hot summer night? In rural Texas? What if the trans athlete is a person of color? That's why they want to carry concealed guns openly.

That actually kind of proves the point. There are 6' 200 lbs cis girls already playing in those sports.
There is already a lot of body type variety in these sports. Trans people hardly change the distribution curve at all.



It sounds like a good idea, but it comes out to exactly the same as 'I think black participation in sports should be a local decision, not a State wide blanket decision.'
The decision ends up being about the prejudice of the people in charge instead of any fair assessment. There might be examples of some trans people that can dominate a sport on a local level, but that is true of cis people as well. When I was in school I played football next to someone that was 6'4 and over 340lbs of pure muscle. 3 years later he was a first round draft pick by the Seattle Seahawks. No one stood a chance against him, he crushed offensive lines.


Your answer is fun. The point of sports is to have fun, and making one team for everyone simply is not fun.

I have friends with daughters who play at a high level.
Those girls are the top tier athletes of their school. They could easily make "the boys teams".
Just plain old straight white girls that spend their who life busting their ass.

For the EV mileage fee 9000miles -12,000miles & below 6K lbs was $150 - above was $190

So my ~5600lb Chevy Suburban @ an average mpg of 17.5 and ~10K miles per year would pay a total of $168 in taxes and registration fees.
My ~4400lb Tesla Model 3 @ 10K miles per year would pay $ 340 or over twice as much

Granted, that is unfair, but I dont see it as having much effect until cheaper electric cars become available. I mean, if you can afford a 50k or more Tesla (and lets face it, even more mainstream EVs are still quite expensive) I dont see 3 or 4 hundred dollars a year for registration as a big impediment. In Minnesota, I pay almost 300 a year for a Subaru Impreza.

The reasons you trot out at the same reasons why Texas was trying to pass a bathroom bill it’s frankly bullshit. IE: we gotta protect our girls from strange men deciding they are female one day.

There are rules and regulations on trans athletes. Most sanctioning bodies(NCAA, IOC, etc) have rules. Including 1 year of HRT for male to female athletes and requiring them to continually test to ensure testosterone is below a certain threshold.

And why do y’all assume it’s mostly mtf? Plenty of ftm athletes out there. You don’t want them to compete in their new gender but then they get heckled and booed and bullied when they compete with their birth gender.

It is not the same thing. F to M transgender would be at an inherent disadvantage, in contrast the M to F transgender. Even then, I am not sure hormone replacement is going to equalize the playing field. Looking at it in the opposite direction, will a 180 pound woman ever become a football lineman (6'5 and 300 pounds of muscle) by taking hormones?

Personally, I dont know how I feel about this issue. I certainly do think it is a legitimate (and very difficult) question to be examined, and it is unfair to simply brand anyone who doesn't think it is an issue as some redneck transphobe.

Keep in mind that the anti trans stuff is mostly about preventing 30 year old black men wearing dresses from participating in girls high school and jr high school sports.
Girls transitioning to boy don't count as trans.
They are simply going through a phase until a real man turns them back to lady dressing.

Those aren’t high school sports in the US.
Admittedly field hockey and proper American Football has some contact, same with hockey but they are not beat the crap out of your competition like mma fights.
That is the main reason I don’t like mma fights.
UFC stuff was sort of interesting in the mid to late 90s but then it became all the same dude fighting the same dude with the same technique.

Actually there have been several. There needs to be established regulations including a time period after beginning transition. Testosterone testing or whatever it takes to prove being born mail is no longer a physical advantage.

I follow sports and I don't know a a single trans male who has won a male sporting event, one that requires an overwhelming amount of physicality.

Example, natural born females are not beating men in weightlifting. However women have defeated men in sports like pro bowling (Kelly Kulick). There have been other attempts such has golf and it has not happened. Watch mixed doubles tennis sometime and see women try to return the men's serve.

There's a few debates around the topic going on. I do agree that it's just griping in some cases. TMK, physical combat is typically divided into weight classes to kinda even the playing field.

Maybe women should spar with men to get accustomed to it and beef up their game?
