Thank Trump for politicizing the pandemic. My heart breaks to think of the deaths that could have been avoided if he simply told his base"The virus is real and though it's a pain in the butt, we gotta wear these masks to keep our countrymen safe."
It wasnt him. It was his masters at Fox News and Moscow.

Wow, so it's like they knew what Biden's press conference was going to be about "Keep wearing masks" and practice social distancing.

Pubs love salting wounds.

It's much like they cut themselves over and over again as they roll around buck nekkid in a salt mine screaming "Look what you socialist commies are making us do to ourselves! Why are you making us do this! Look! You're making us do it again!"

Anyone in Texas who hasn't been vaccinated yet needs to jump the line now.

Which is a lot of people. Texas is in last place in vaccine distribution.

Case rates are still very high in parts of the state.
At least ND could make an argument for it with their low rates. Not smart, but less dangerous.

Does everyone even have their water back on yet?

Texistan is making a hard play to be America's 3 world country.

400 years?? How did you come up with that number when the US was concieved in 1776 (245 years ago)?
I'm thinking the poster meant 'America';

"Plymouth Rock is the traditional site of disembarkation of William Bradford and the Mayflower Pilgrims who founded Plymouth Colony in December 1620. "

Which makes it exactly 400 years (plus a couple of months) since white supremacy began the ugly reign here.

Wife just lost a cousin out there, from going to an Xmas party everyone told her not to but that she insisted was safe due to whole pandemic being one big hoax (praise Trump). Several family members attended and they all got covid19, but this cousin was the one who got to spend several weeks in the ICU, slowly dying an unpleasant and lonely death. They streamed her service on zoom.

That has, thankfully, got many of them to snap out of it a bit. They can't believe this news, this and not having electricity and clean water has them beyond pissed. AOC getting involved was sobering to many I think.

The sad fact is it is going to take more dead people and financial ruin to make the majority of Americans realize how toxic republican governance is. It's a lesson Texans should understand well by now, better than most. Oh well.
Every death makes a liberal cry, only a death of a close friend or family member makes a republican cry (except for first trimester fetuses). More liberal tears means they are winning.

To anyone who visits Massachusetts, don’t visit Plymouth Rock. Dumb little thing and a complete waste of time. I don’t believe it is even the same rock.

Imagine you are a teacher in Texas forced back into a crowded classroom with unmasked un-vaccinated kids!! Yet righties continue to dump on the teachers unions.

Next on the freedom agenda.

Rescind drinking and driving laws
Smoking indoors fine.
No more speed limits on any roads

yee-haw!!

Oddly enough in South Dakota the people by referendum voted for legal pot and the Governor refuses to enact.

Freedom my ass

Republican governors and legislatures often don’t feel bound by legal referendums if they don’t like them. “We the people...”, “Law and order”, etc.

I would not blame a soul who decides to falsely attest they have an eligible condition because this state is so insanely irresponsible at every turn.

They have an eligible condition: "Dumb as shit Governor"
I thank baby Jesus every damn day WI has Tony Evers - he's not the BEST Governor in the world, but he's a Democrat and able to somewhat keep the republican controlled legislature in check. If we have a GOP gov, we'd have pulled back all restrictions by now for sure.

I think Phil Scott and Charlie Baker may be the only republican governors who aren't worthless. I think having a republican dominated legislature counts for a lot though, seems to keep elevated levels of partisan stupidity front and center.

Yeah as of now I will happily vote for Baker again. This isn’t saying no mistakes were made and I feel he went cheap on the vaccination site however I do not expect perfection because that is not a realistic expectation.

It'll never happen. White supremacy has been a winning political strategy in the US for 400 years now.

Dates aside, it certainly can happen as everyone has a breaking point. How many winning political strategies overruled the threat of small pox? At a certain point wide spread death has a unique way of refuting arguments and correcting behavior, it's why anti-maskers didn't last long during the flu pandemic of 1918.

The party of white supremacy just lost the White House and both chambers of Congress, is a bad joke on the international stage. That doesn't sound like winning to me.

If I was a healthcare worker in Texas and I hadn't died or quit already. I sure as shit would now. Health care professionals should be doing a massive walkout over this.

I have yet to hear a defensible argument for ending the mask mandate now instead of say at the end of April. Not a single one that isn't rooted in batshit conspiracy theory or idiotic cultural warfare.
