Thank Trump for politicizing the pandemic. My heart breaks to think of the deaths that could have been avoided if he simply told his base"The virus is real and though it's a pain in the butt, we gotta wear these masks to keep our countrymen safe."
It's not in Trump's nature to do the right thing. He'll keep doing the wrong thing until he's 6 feet under.

Like I said, people can either go out or stay the fuck home, but a year + is enough! I can see how communism could happen in this country. Some of you guys don't mind being led by the nose and being ordered what to do. I'm not cut from that cloth. I like the idea of isolating the vulnerable and letting everyone else go about their lives.
Next Alabama...
we're a lot closer to fascism than communism in this country because people like @compuwiz1 here who thinks he's not being led around by the nose have fallen for authentic frontier gibberish.

How does wearing a mask invite communism? Enlighten us. Also how would wearing a mask stop you from doing what you need to do?

Are you sure this isn't just a selfish thing?
it's a bunch of selfish fucking pricks who've been told that individuals are the only things that matter and the only things that should concern them are the direct and immediate consequences of their actions that fall only on them and maybe their immediate family. they've been sold this bullshit ideology and they all think that makes them free fucking thinkers even though @compuwiz1 apes every other wannabe individualist fascist on the internet. they all tell the same fucking bullshit tale about the pandemic response being creeping communism and then have the gall to think they're not being led around by the nose.

again, @compuwiz1 wants to blame the victim of the drunk driver.

Don't worry. As long as they prove that aren't being led by the nose by proving their undying loyalty and fealty to being led by the nose by Trump, they are completely independent thinkers.

Let's start getting this right as progressives. Dumb is an excuse, these people are bad people. Let's learn from history, there are large swaths of populations that do or go along with bad shit, today's trumpers are those people.
OK, granted, he may be malevolent, in fact I figure he is. He's on my ignore list, so I don't have a real sense of him. I just unignored that one post and determined that he's very stupid. I understand that a great many people think like he does, but they are ALL REALLY STUPID. Comes from having a fucked up ego.

I do not believe these governors are incompetent or idiots. I believe their aim is to kill as many people as they can and to make it impossible for Democrats to get credit for ending the epidemic. I believe they should be held accountable for harboring such intent, imprisoned for reckless manslaughter, but definitely removed from power. They are murders and should be dealt with as such.

What a wonderful world we live in. We elect psychopaths with deranged minds that send people off to their deaths and claim to be helpless to prevent it. How interesting that you can’t make death threats at people in the act of murder but it’s perfectly fine to murder people when you can disguise your obvious intent.

It took forever the colossal lying asshole Trump tobe called a liar by the press. When are they going to call these killers in office what they are.

There should only be one question they get asked and that is how many people have you killed today.

Maybe abbot could be charged with depraved indifference homicide. Open everything up just months before we can claim victory over COVID-19, just to deflect that Texas shitstorm which is that colossal failure of their energy grid. Deflect, deflect, deflect. He doesn't give a FF about people's lives either.

I certainly think the orange menace also qualifies for these charges. Nothing will ever come of it. He is the orange menaced COVID-19 accomplice serial killer.

I'm curious what part of Governor Abbott's "decision" you're going to ignore? Is there some specific activity that you've been doing that his latest EO forbids you from doing and it should be ignored?

I like the idea of you not infecting everyone because you're a little self-important snowflake.

the rescinding of the mask mandate. in other words, behaving as if the mask mandate were still in effect.

also, your signature is comically inaccurate.

How much of a little bitch do you have to be to think wearing a mask to protect your fellow citizens after 550,000 of them have been killed in the most horrible and lonely deaths is some huge invasion of your rights? What makes you so important that you don't have a duty to be a decent human being and take even minimal steps to protect others? Why does the American right think they just have to be dicks to everyone and act like whining children? Your parents taught you to stop acting like that around ten years old most likely but now you have to revert back because fuck everyone else, even the slightest inconvenience to you trumps the lives of hundreds of thousands of Americans. And the inconvenience of wearing a mask for 20 minutes at the grocery store or three minutes at the gas station is so slight. But you say fuck grocery workers, fuck our healthcare workers, fuck the cashier when you buy gas, fuck the senior citizens who also have to shop for groceries around you, fuck everyone. Because you don't want to put on a mask to protect them, you're too important. Your feelings trump their lives. All that matters is the snowflake's feeling don't get hurt.

We are literally within three to six months of totally beating this thing. Why fuck it up now. Would wearing a mask and keeping the obvious transmission points like bars and gyms at reduced capacity be that painful for a few more months?
I don’t live in TX so it is their call, if I lived there I certainly wouldn’t want to be the last person to die or the last person to lose their parents due to COVID.
As I said I see no gain in doing what is being done.

Picky, picky, picky. Next you'll point out he's been a fascism apologist and promotes white nationalism viewpoints.

It's purely virtue signaling from a government official. I hear that's a terrible thing, when lib's do it.

Masks + social distancing = keep things open.

Now, we are doing much better than even January, number-wise, and it seems ill advised to jump the gun. But there are reasons I wouldn't move to TX, and government policies are a big one.

Since the Governors office website said tours of the mansion are suspended because of CDC restrictions let's see how serious Abbot is about lifting mandate. Let's see if the restart the tours when the ban is lifted this Wednesday.

It's NOT enough. The science says it's NOT enough. Are you down with science? Or do you run around with a dunce hat on?

DeSantis is not dumb, he's Harvard and Yale educated. He's just a sociopath.

Don't associate acceptance to a campus with intelligence. There's this thing called 'legacy admissions,' also 'cash.' Dubya was Yale educated, never really accumulating much in his head other than baseball stats. Trump went to a renowned school and we all know how that turned out. Jared got accepted to Harvard only after his dad shelled out a $2.5million donation. Jared is a C student at best.

For several years I've seen nothing from DeSantis to indicate he has an IQ greater than his waist size. He has the temperament of small child, the mental capacity of one whose mother drank while pregnant. Anyone got something showing him to be some kind of Mensa member in real life, cough up that link please.
