Let's say one of the gun enthusiasts here always talking about insurrection against the gubmint (which is far more than Omar talked about or focused on terrorism) attacked his own church. First they make a call ranting about obama and liberals and whatever. Then we find out he had troubles with people at the church, and had good reason to get back at them. Which would you think was a more likely motivation? Liberal muslim hussein obama or the actual relationship issues that affect his life?
I'd say Mateen's connections to terrorist groups were too strong to just dismiss him as a lone gunman. Especially now that the FBI is dismissing the claim of personal motive.
Is there some reason to want to let Islamic Terrorism off the hook for this, maybe so you can focus entirely on disarming "crazy Americans"? I suppose it works against the political narrative if there's a threat we need to defend ourselves against.
It sure seems like political correctness to dismiss Islamic Terrorism. Which, ultimately, is little more than enabling.
