Yeah, the 5 minets that take palce in the future during the others movies, has always intreged me the most.

Same here. But I guess they can't skip and jump the story from a kid to a grown man leading the fight of the future. There has to be a story with him learning the truth himself (training others) and try to stop it. We should be able to see what "SkyNet" looks like in this 3rd one.
Hopefully, the 4th one will be in the future and will not have the "send protector" scheme. And crossing the finger that they will reenact the "SkyNet"'s self-aware part and the turn from good to evil part, not just a 5 min flashback.

Can't wait.
