They also were too lazy to set up any kind of volunteer firefighting group.
A nearby city with smarter people who pay their taxes and aren't slacker leeches, out of the goodness of their hearts offered to share the firefighters they paid for, for a small annual fee of $75.
I'd agree that these morons should never have voted not to pay for firefighting services through taxes or the $75 fee, but it's their own stupid fault. They made their bed, they can watch it burn. Personal rights come with personal responsibility.
The county yokels were too cheap to pay the $75 but still want the services they refused to help fund.
