I just started my 2nd summer as an engineering intern at a nuke plant in NC and today I was writing up something for a meeting tomorrow on the board in the meeting room and my supervisor comes in and says my handwriting is worse than his. I told him he should have asked one of the female interns to do it if he wanted nice handwriting and he said not to say stuff like that because it's sexual harassment. WTF?

please tell me he's wrong, otherwise this world is way way way way too PC. if anything, i'm complimenting women.

What kind of harassment is it then? Handwriting harassment?

The OP made a comment that the female sex's handwriting is better than that of males. If that makes someone uncomfortable, it's SH.
 
If she's attracted to you, it's "flirting".

If she's not attracted to you, it's "Sexual Harassment".

In your case, she is a he, so it's probably going to be, "Sexual Harassment."

Yes, truth and common sense are not relevant or wanted in the USA today. Stick to lies and PC and you'll do fine in the workplace.

Any intellectually honest person has to admit it is a borderline comment at best, which means it could be taken as a sexist comment. Now reasonably you could defend yourself, but why make the comment at work in the first place?

I'm not saying I'd be offended by it or that its good that political correctness has gone so far. I'm just saying that if you want to fit in, its best to just accept the injustice of it and move on.

How do you propose we 'fix' it? We can't have specific phraseology in the law that's defined as sexual harassment because offenders will find a way around it.

The best way to avoid sexual harassment is to put the leverage in the hands of victims. If it makes someone uncomfortable, it's harassment. Sounds good to me.

You should never make a comment that draws a comparison between peoples, race, gender, or age in the work place, that places one, in a better light, than the other. It really doesn't matter if it is true or not because those are the rules you have to play by and your career is what will suffer if you fail to play by the rules.
