It's amazing that it's more logical to you that a middle aged businessman on vacation walked up to an suv while his wife was in the gas station and decided to randomly start shooting people.

Why not? You act like all middle aged businessmen are model citizens. Are you saying that it is unlikely that he murdered this kid, fled the scene and made up the story about the gun?

If they were at the gas station, how come nobody saw them remove the gun from the car and run off to hide it? How come?

Based on what we currently know:

Hoodie in deep cover attempting to conceal ID

Seen by eyewitness with gun

= Thug.

As soon as some evidence comes out showing these to be honor roll kids I'll change my stance.

Link to this information?

I hope you're going into your lying habit again.

Interesting:

So, these kids were trying to flee and he still fired upon them.

But in his defense, according to him anywho, he just fired to scare them and he believed that none of the 9 shots at close range hit anyone. According to multiple people in this thread, if I lived in FL and had a CCW I could fire at people because I was slightly intimidated. And by law I don't even have to report firing my gun.

FL has some weird ass laws, in my city not picking up my dogs pop can result in me a nice ticket.

Right now that is the only account we have.

If more evidence comes out to show otherwise then I will fully support it.

Until then, all evidence shows that it was an older man who got his feelings hurt when he told some teens to turn down their music and was greeted with 4 middle fingers.

FTFY.

I think this guy dunn is an idiot. Why would you care if someones music is loud at a gas station unless you have a gun and wants to prove something. I hope he gets life for killing someone for loud music.

He killed somebody when his life was threatened. Need to keep that in mind, it wasn't over loud music as the false and errant thread title suggests.

It was over his life being verbally and physically threatened by an overwhelming disparate force (4 against 1).

Okay Spidey, if he had the right to gun this kid down, why did he flee the scene and why did he not report it? Do you think he would have turned himself in at some point..you know cause, the only reason they round him was because of CCTV and witnesses.

Yep, he was standing his ground.

Yep, never mind there's no proof they had a gun, they talked mean and disrespected him.

Correct, there is no duty to retreat in florida and the victim is allowed to use deadly force in the face of verbal and physical threats and disparity of force.

You have some evidence that shows this wasn't self defense?

Supposedly the vehicle with kids attempted to drive away when he started shooting. There's a reason why he was denied bail on Monday.

In reply to your edit, yeah that was probably the very first thing they thought of.

Right, because middle age white guys are immune from going crazy and killing people. :whiste:

Yes, statements from the victim and other witnesses.

Not that it matters, innocent until proven guilty and all that. He doesn't have to prove he shot in self defense. The state must prove he didn't.

You know that, but you just hate that preople must be proven guilty, you want to hang an innocent man because or your burned in prejudice.

What a sad society we live in nowadays, to where everyone simply cowers to thugs and thieves.

I also wonder, if there were more hotheads like dunn, if perhaps some of these kids would be a bit better behaved. With the number of CCW permits going up, and the number of stories like this going up, maybe these little thugs will think twice before reacting with violence.

And FYI, I am acutely aware of how the criminal element and "thug life" functions nowadays. Without going into detail, I grew in the hood.. the real hood.. and left all of that culture and etc behind a long time ago.

Right, having to listen to 120 second of loud rap music is a prime example of "cowering" to thugs and thieves...I was at a red light on my way to work this morning and I heard the car next to me bumping his music too, I'm not how I can live with myself now since I didn't confront him about it...

The stretches of logic and hyperbole in this thread is unparalleled.

Ahhh but dunn started the whole thing. Threatened or not he could have just walked away. I hope I don't do or engage in this dumb decision.

I do hate the media sensationalism on this incident. Every media outlet has the headline "Kid killed because of loud music" or something to that effect. The problem is that this creates a bias from the get go in many people who start to read an article. We don't know the exact reason why Michael Dunn shot at the kids as of yet. One thing we do know is that it was most decidedly NOT over loud music. The loud music is what made Dunn ask the kids to turn down. What we know is that there was a heated discussion after the initial asking by Dunn.

The shooting could have been because Dunn was mad at the kids disrespecting him. Maybe he just went psycho at what they said to him which could have just been pure insults.

He also could have shot at them because they threatened him as Dunn claims. So in reality, the shooting occurred as a direct result of the verbal confrontation and not the loud music.

EDIT, I will say that by this point, most of the forensic evidence has been gathered. Most has probably been analyzed. When formal charges are brought to bear, we'll know more.

No he did not "start" the whole thing.

The whole thing was started by the verbal and physical threat to his life by overwhelming disparity of force.

The thugs felt "disrespected" for somebody kindly asking them to turn their music down, then started verbally threatening his life, then produced a weapon. All of this escalation by the thugs, leading the victim to be forced to fire in self defense to protect his life.

Nice description of a situation you weren't witness to. I doubt very much that he kindly asked to turn the music down.

Hey, spidey is lying again. Who would have thought.
