You guys need to understand liability law (which I don't)... before you start hounding the kid.

Yes, he is stupid. Yes, it's his fault. But the garage, 95% of the time, will lose this case in court. If you have private property, it is your duty to keep it safe for all public. Even if you have a fence around your yard and a person walks into it and gets hurt, you are liable, because it is your property.

Orlando Parking Garage Director Samuel Vennero admitted he was aware of at least one other incident where a garage jumper didn't make it to the other side.

"There was a very, very short length of fence that was completely ineffective in preventing this from happening," D'Assaro said
.

He is going to win. Because the Director knew of another incident and do not do anything to correct a potential fatal accident (act of stupidness) he will lose.

But like someone said I hope they countersue the stupid son of a bitch for trespassing.

Argh...where are the nutcases when you need them? We seriously need a serial killer who just goes after people like this.

This makes me want to become President, just so I can publicly ridicule any and every person who sues over something retarded.. and then institute the death penalty for any such cases.

Too bad stupidity isn't a crime and castration / hysterectomy isn't a punishment for it 🙁 Can you imagine how far we could be by now as a species?

Once they put up some fences, I'm going to try the jump, hit the fence, fall 80 feet, and sue the city for putting a fence up. If the fence hadn't been there I would've made it.

hahahahahahaha

The sad part is, the kid will probably win and put the garage out of business in the process. Stupid america sometimes, SUE CRAZY!

Yep, our system is in desperate need of an overhaul.

So, I do think that the kid is clearly at fault.

But how do you build two 80 foot tall structures and leave an 18" gap between them?

Seriously, let's say you're walking to your car and you trip and fall - 80 feet down???

The kid was a total retard for intentionally jumping between them. However, seems like the parking garage owner could have definitely done a better job of making them safe.

Not sure if this was covered already, but according the talk radio people the gap is only 1 and half foot. Yes thats right, 18 inches.

The boy has gone up to the gap since the accident, and is in disblief that he didn't make it across.

There's no way that could be right. Hell even Verne Troyer (Mini Me) could have cleared that!

I wish this little bastard would have plummeted 80 feet onto some steel spikes (think Mortal Kombat), shot at by water guns filled with gasoline, lit ablaze like a Viking funeral then run over by a steam roller.

I'm surprised they haven't blamed it on movies and sued the producers of the Matrix

That was my thought.

Lame-ass lawyers not to add 'Matrix' on to the lawsuit!

And, hey, they can included the Evil Video Game Industry (tm), as well - 'The Matrix Online' and 'Enter the Matrix' are both video games that could feature that 'stunt'...

Also, Florida seems like just about the WORST place on earth. Even the Floridians I know admit that it's horrible. Anyone here see the movie "Bully"?

I wish this guy would have been killed. Trash like this shouldn't be living. "Yeah, I'm gonna sue you because I was a dumbsh** and jumped over an 80-ft gap." There's absolutely no logic in their thinking.
