Just like Dr. Pizza said if you're an amd fan there's a nvidia bias if you're nvidia then everyone one is a paid amd shill.

Let me get this straight: SiliconWars gets a couple of infractions. Now he is a known offender, be it right or wrong. So then, he decides to "use words vebatim" in his posts to illustrate a point and see if he gets in trouble. He succeeds. He then proceeds to get banned on a weekly basis until he is so angry he writes an expose that will shock the entire internet and come as a surprise to no one but his mom. Now he is going to blow the lid off of this site, again to the surprise of nobody. Amiritesofar?

Whoever said that it is his passion, get real. This website can be deleted from his favorites list with the click of a mouse. He gets angry, he can stop coming here. Last I checked, this wasnt the only website on the internet. Grow up and move the fuck on. Apply this silly angst you have to somethimg useful.

Peace

Lounatik
He was told to worry about the content of his own posts and nobody else's, but he doubled-down on his silly course of action until he reached the inevitable conclusion.

Woot I made it on to his list:

12127168705_9cd14d3b1d_o.jpg

It is a bit silly to report someone for posting something they then edit, assuming they edit it within a very short period of time.
It shows that they recognise themselves already it was a stupid thing to post. Otherwise you are discouraging people from improving their posts...

Since your image doesn't show the post/edit timestamps, it doesn't say how long afterwards he decided to change his post so it could go either way.

What he wanted to prove:
As an AMD fan you will get banned!

What he proved:
He can get banned. He is an AMD fan.

He did not prove the causal relationship of the two.

He didn't follow the scientific method, and certainly failed at using statistics to support his claim. As such, we can consider his work nothing but a weak, biased indicator of occasional mis-moderation, which apparently gets corrected -- usually.

Is it "corrected" when they remove posts by members they don't want to give infractions to instead of keeping it public with a mod note so we know what has happened (as is forum policy) or is that something else...?

I think cleaning up garbage from threads is important - more important than keeping the garbage around for "educational and documentary" purposes.
I care less what consequences this has for the various posters, as long as the thread remains usable.
Usually the "deleted" posts are either transferred to a separate thread in the same forum, or to the garbage forum, where they remain for the other moderators to see, in case any deliberation on actions is required.
I think any post that was deleted is always worth an infraction, simply for the trouble incurred to the moderator, that has to wade through that shit. Why anyone would expect a deleted post to have no consequence for the poster is beyond me. They have made work for the moderator, so the moderator will probably reward them for that with the deserved infraction/ban.

But why cover anything up? If you're going to put some posters on display for misbehaving than not others, that is still sending the wrong message and shows bias no matter what you might think, it's pretty fucked up especially when you have admins lying about it too saying it isn't possible for them to delete posts and they always let moderated posts stand because that's the forum rules.

Just seems shady as fuck and bullshit.

Why cover it up and why lie?

He made posts where he copied word-for-word something that the person he was responding to had said and didn't get punished for, and got punished for it. Not entirely scientific, but indicating a degree of bias somewhere...

Not necessarily. Individual history plays a big part.

I could probably copy a SandEagle diatribe and get away with a warning due to no history of infractions. SandEagle would probably get infracted or banned due to previous trolling.

(Used him as a convent example - not necessarily because he's currently on someone's shit list)

That's the very definition of bias.

I'm a believer in not deleting posts. Moving them to a sin bin (and still having them viewable by members) is the way to go, IMO.

I still love ATOT on these forums, but is there anywhere else that people enjoy to get the technical discussions like VC&G without all the drama?

What are other good forums to go to for that?

"tech news" covers much more than GPUs :p

Also, before anyone feels sorry for him, just go to Search-->advanced search--> user: Jimbo75

Read his posts. I mean every single one of them. You know what, just read the first 5.

Yeah, I was specifically just referring to Video cards.

And I dont feel sorry for him at all, he seems like a bit of a drama queen with an axe to grind.

speaking of the video segment only, i'd say Gsync, 4k and 120hz are far more interesting.

and shadowplay. look, imho even the 7850k's APU is more interesting than mantle. HSA is more interesting.

IFAIK Gsync is just a fancy Vsync, 4K is just a resolution bump and 120hz have been supported by video cards for ages. Its been a decade or so since the last low level API's were released. Whether its going to be amazing or not is by the by, its certainly an interesting development just from a technical stand point.

No it's not, unless you completely fail to comprehend a system of escalating penalties. You know, like in any other life endeavor.....late to work once, get talked to. Late to work 3 times, get written up. Late to work 5 times, get fired. Same concept.

From only hearing one side of a lame whining account, you'd not realize that the whiner was infracted numerous times for multiple occurrences of shit, became more antagonistic, got infracted more (and yes, timed out vs. someone else getting little or less harsh treatment for the same offense----and that's because a repetitive act, esp. when told not to and doing it anyway in defiance----will get that one treated more harshly than someone doing it the first or second time.)
