TLDR: a LOT more companies (many not even remotely related to Google, Apple, Ebay or any silicon valley tech companies) are involved and it's not just creating do not call lists, but actively rejecting people who apply directly to competing firms.

Just a reminder that libertarians and conservatives suck these asshole CEO's cocks while completely hating on your average working person. Not surprisingly, it's easier for CEO's to create 'unions' to fuck over workers than it is for normal workers to band together to form unions - this is why we need special laws to make union forming EASIER, not harder.

Edit: Relevant part about not hiring certain applicants even if they directly apply:

Not to pursue manager level and above candidates for Product, Sales, or G&A roles — even if they have applied to Google;

Phokus calls me a fucking idiot in 3.....2.....1.......

You're a fucking idiot because

1) Most of the companies are located in california, of course they're going to give to dems more

and

2) LOL at you trying to deflect that fact that this is PROOF that CEO's are trying to fuck over your average worker.

Keep trying to deflect though, your theories about 'free markets' are meaningless and irrelevant.

Edit: Also, what do low level workers (which is where most of these donations are coming from) giving to democrats have to do with anything concerning CEO's fucking over these same workers you idiot bitch.

LOL! The stupidity of the OP is legendary!

Notice how Google and Apple CEOs somehow morph into conservatives so he can cast blame! Somehow conservatives are to blame for what Silicon Valley CEOs do.

Now this mouth-breathing halfwit will spend the rest of the thread spinning how silicon valley liberals like Eric Schmidt are all of a sudden "conservatives".

Libs always are good for laughs!

Phokus, you have some serious anger management issues I suggest you work on. Maybe after you've calmed down from your rage a conversation can take place.

Does Michelle Obama known you suck Barry's? When he pops one up your arse, does he have the courtesy to give you a reach around? You've got a lot of fucking room to talk, bitch.

CEOs wouldnt even appear necessary in a society consisting only of smart people. and a labor union is only as smart as the average member.

If there were no patents, no taxes, no legal tender, and no other regs then institutions headed by CEOs would be few and far between. Sadly, the OP and so many others fail to understand that concept

LOL Ownage at its best. Apple and Ebay are now conservative! LOL
"but, but, but..."

Liberal companies fucking over America, then paying out tons to Democratic campaigns. Thanks for posting this thread, it's awesome! :awe:

What the fuck are you retards talking about, 'liberal' companies? Get real. I donated to democrats while employed at IBM, does that somehow count as me endorsing IBM as being part of this? You're fucking retarded. I was not CEO of IBM. And HAHAHAHA EBAY? You retards realize that Meg Whitman, who was CEO of EBay at the time ran for governer of california as a REPUBLICAN, right? Holy shit, you guys are fucking retarded:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meg_Whitman

In 2008, she was cited by The New York Times as among the women most likely to become the first female President of the United States.[5] In February 2009, Whitman announced her candidacy for Governor of California, becoming the third woman in a 20-year period to run for the office. She won the Republican primary in June 2010.

Where did i say that these companies were 'conservative' in the OP anyway, you fucking retards? You certainly do suck these CEO's cocks though, that was the point.

Most of these CEO's have a very libertarian view of the economy and banding together to depress wages is very consistent with that philosophy. But keep trying to obscure the issue; the fact is, your theories of 'free markets' are outdated.

This might be a nominee for self-ownage thread of the year.

There is no doubt it is an issue and an embarrassment to Silicon Valley and yet another instance of CEOs putting themselves above everyone else.

The ownage part is you blaming conservatives and libertarians when people like Steve Jobs (there aren't many more liberal than he was) are behind this. Eric Schmidt is a liberal as well and he was the one who appeared in the article more than anyone else. Here's a newsflash for you: CEOs are generally greedy assholes regardless of political affiliation.

Most of these comments are nonsensical. You do know that Meg Whitman who was the CEO of Ebay at that time.. wait for it.. ran for Governor as a Republican and further was one of Romney's finance co-chairs. But, keep looking at the figures that the employees donated to the parties.

But, again, what happened to all those free market policies Republicans espouse. What makes it funnier is that she was supposed to be the Secretary of Treasury if Romney won.

DO NOT FORWARD
Meg called to talk about our hiring practices. Here is what she said:
1. Google is the talk of the valley because we are driving up salaries across the board. People are just waiting for us to fall and get back at us for our “unfair” practices now.
2. Our recruiting practices are “zero sum” and it appears that somewhere in Google we are targeting EBay to “hurt them” and its the reputation that we are doing this against Yahoo, EBay and MSFT (I denied this.)

Isn't it absolutely amazing that you guys always seem to vote for people who are against your interests and seem happy doing it.

You're a fucking idiot because...

Phokus... why so far removed from logical argument?

It's obvious that Matt is wrong because it is Republican ACTION that stands against stronger Union laws, rules, and policy. Democrats are the heroic champions of the low wage worker, riding in on white horses to save the day.

So Silicon Valley "manager and above candidates" are now your standard for "average working person"? Not saying that wage collusion isn't a problem but your perspective on this is a bit skewed to say the best and I daresay unions by themselves would have done nothing to help prevent this problem. You've also offered no support to your opinion that liberals and conservatives "hate average workers" either, but that's not a surprise.

Yes, both parties are beholden to corporations because of that magic pixy dust they spray during campaigns (money).

But it is absolutely disingenuous to argue that Democrats and Republicans behave the same toward these corporations.

Outside of this thread Democrats would be known as the "anti- Business" party, but for the purposes of this thread you guys have somehow morphed the Republicans and Democrats to loving businesses equally. Hilarious. Everything isn't black and white

If most Democrats had their way, there would be more regulations and oversight on Corporations. Would any Republican say that?

Democrats can claim anything they want. Reality tells a different story and Democrats as Phokus so eloquently put it "suck these asshole CEO's cocks" for donations just as much as Republicans. And please with the whole Meg Whitman, have you heard of Steve Jobs?

You are still trying to go all in? You tried to use donations to prove that somehow Ebay was a liberal company (not even sure what your point was), yet the CEO is an unabashed Republican. o_O

Steve Jobs runs a corporation. What makes him liberal? The fact that he donates to liberal causes? I'm sure if Obama came out tomm in support of more regulations against Apple or regulations forcing them to pay their Chinese workers living wages, he'd be all for it... Get real.

This my guy vs. your guy thing is very silly.

Btw, It's not just as much. You seem to live in the world of false equivalency. Both parties are beholden to corporations. But, there is only one party for unions, only one party for more regulations, and only one party for more corporate accountability. Guess which one.

This my guy vs. your guy thing is very silly but why do you only point out it's silliness when it's your side not looking so good? And seeing as how you won't let the whole Meg Whitman thing go and she is your smoking gun, here is a reality check. She was a hired hand. Ebay was, is and probably always will be Pierre Omidyar.
