as of right now there are 277366 messages (posts) in ATOT. ALL the other forums COMBINED have a total of 268261. So HALF of the entire AT community is pure nef, these people need to contribute on some way IMHO, but WHERE ELSE would you suggest they recruit? Makes perfect sense by the numbers to only do it in here.

Even good heatware these days doesn't indicate you are a good trader any more. BTW, postcount has always been irrelevent no matter what forum you visit most!
BTW, how does DC contribute to Anandtech.Does Anand , his family, friend and employees make money from DC forum? The only thing that contributes to Anandtech are hits and ATOT and the HD forum contribute more than all the other forums combined.

RedDawn - The DC posters don't "sticky" threads, the Mods do that. Long ago the DC forum was told that limited recruiting was OK. If too many threads were started, they'd be locked and posters would start getting vacations. As far as I can tell, the DC group has limited this ever since. Including a discussion in the DC forum when a recruiting thread is posted in order to keep the number down.
I don't think the DC forum would care if a LAN party thread was stickied in the DC forum and many of the DC people have home networks and play games, so it may even attract attention and recruits.
However, I try not to be very sensitive to critism when a recruting thread is posted in OT (or other forums). Some people consider DC projects to be a waste of time. Personally, I would just ignore a post if I thought it was worthless, but some of them will take a pot shot or two. That's just life.

And those 3 are so bad when you compare it to the 3 per day "YAGT" or "YACT" threads, which all have the same responses all the time...
As i said though, i'm not gonna get into this. I think 1 thread is enough for you to skip over if you don't want to read it

Man would many of us love to get rid of the YAGT threads too! Having a recruiting thread stikied along the lines of the ones in the past are fine..about every 6 months or so. Let the others rise and fall with the posts without them being stikied!Originally posted by: Confused

Yes we do have our own forum but is there really any reason to go off the deep end about 1 sticky, OT gets 10 times the number of hits that DC does, its just a bit of publicity for the littlens in DC. Were not forcing anyone to take any notice of the threads we put in OT but except for DC Forum and some sigs, OT is the only other publicity we get, Adul had to fight really hard to get the seti TeAm a mention on the front page last time we were passed so please just cut us a bit of slack guys, its not for much longer, and when it ends Red Dawn i will personally buy you a :beer:

I didn't realize so many of the OT "elite" were such pricks. It's my opinion that DC can post one thread here and the mods can sticky whatever thread they want here in OT (obviously). If I choose to not read it then I just skip over it, no biggy. I honestly cannot believe the amount of backlash from OTers (and I spend 95% of my time in OT).
