Thats great guys! We are happy if you are participating in any of the projects as long as you are participating for the TeAm! :D

The race is close, right now only 38 WUs separate the two teams!

For those of you who are interested here is a link to the stats!

i like anandtech and all, at least the hotdeals forum, but when it comes to tech support, or forums in general, DSLR wins hands down, i'm leaving my old 700 cycles (from dec 2000) over there :)

and a couple new ones, gone are the days when I had a ton of idle machines at work i could put to work though. What better to do with the vacant computer of 100s of laid off employees ;) . Now it's just me my Duron, and PII 350 chugging again.

One thing I don't understand rally is if you were a DSLR member first why are you here. Hope that doesn't affend you. I mean you benifit from the great hot deal forum here. But i'm a new guy compared to you so i'll keep my mouth shut but still kinda say thats wrong. Should be a example being a golden member.

I chose folding over ud because of this paragraph on the oxford site regarding the ud project:

"As between the sponsoring organisations, the results of the study will be the sole and exclusive property of Oxford University. Oxford will initiate and control the filing of any patent applications. Oxford has granted NFCR an exclusive first option to negotiate in good faith a royalty-bearing licence over the results for further drug development. Any royalties NFCR receives from any licensing will be granted back to Oxford University as research funding."

ONLY "...After taking account of any steps necessary to preserve patentability, Professor Richards? research group, the project co-ordinator, will publish the results."

Which means, if they find something, oxford is the gatekeeper, and will sell the information to the highest bidder. So oxford makes billions of dollars, the pharmaceutical comapny pays billions of dollars for the info, and further R&D, and in return for you doing the grunt work for them, your cancer cure costs $100,000.

At least with folding, they are publishing the results of the tests for all to see/use.

what do you mean? There is no hot deal forum on DSLR, so here I am. Consider me a dual citizen. Weird question.

Race Update: We are starting to pull ahead, but we need more help! Their best producer is on the sidelines right now, but he will return (He has over 100,000 WUs :Q)

We need a bigger lead so we can have a little breathing room!

So Join TeAm Anandtech and help us defeat DSLR! :D

I respect your opinion Rally1, but I have to disagree! I have been over to DSLR lately checking out the competition and I know the Tech support is better here than at DSLR! There was alot of bad tech advice that needed correcting when I looked like someone suggesting that a video card was an "optional" component when building a Seti machine!

If you like DSLR more and your loyalties are there I can respect that, but I will never agree that their forums beat ours!

Ok, I just joined. I have a XP 1800+, Dual PIII 1GHZ and a Pentium Pro 200 running. Later this week I'll add another XP 1800+, PIII 850, and maybe a T-Bird 900. :D

riznick - there is no profit motive with seti@home, some of the other projects do have this but with seti it is purely scientific.

BigBadMikey: Way Cool!!!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome you Big Bad dood!!!!
