didn't buy it, er build it just to have seti running on it all day! But I'm away from it all day while at work and all night while sleeping so why not have it crunch WU's when I'm away. I leave it on all the time anyway so no problem letting it crunch away while I'm not at the keyboard.
The rest of the time I use it for getting hot deals and playing games so as I see it there is no loss....my CPU may disagree!
The only problem I see with this, is you're posting it on a board which is comprised of cheap bastards who wouldn't want to spend the extra electricity money to work their CPU's... In fact, Anandtech user's probably aren't used to letting people use any of their stuff without getting some sort of coupon or discount in return!

you may have a point HKS!
but, crunchn seti WU's can be used as a benchmark, so in that respect you can justify the money you spent and that coupon you just used to get that new hardware.

Well maybe the cheap _ferengi_ bastards!:Q
I like to think there are more good guys than ferengi out there.
We're still behind..Their biggest member flushed about 30% of what we normally do in a day and sometimes he does that often.....we need every member to help balance this "Big Boy" out....Please help and thanks for your support!
Great to have you aboard renfield33 (and of course all the rest of the Hot Dealer who have joined)
For the rest... What better way to give a little something back for all the great deals we've taken advantage of here?
I know my own PC is built out of 100% "hot deal" parts. Try it out for a day or 2, you might find it as addicting as hitting the refresh key in this Forum
Not that beggars can be choosers, but to those new members joining check out some of the various installs that we have which will install SETI as a service. This will run -much- faster than the screensaver version. Check the DC forum for more info.
