Please provide a link to one credible source that claims the US would accomplish its objectives in this conflict through the use of nuclear weapons.

You are either too young, too ignorant, or too stupid to actually understand how to fight and win wars. (I'm betting it's more too young than anything considering how poorly you post) We couldn't possibly hope to eliminate our enemies through this sort of action without reducing the better part of the world to radioactive ash. Not only would that be genocidal and insane, but it would cause catastrophic damage to the economic and strategic interests of the US, which shockingly enough extend far beyond a bunch of dirtbags chopping off heads in Pakistan.

Secondly, try reading some history books. You might just learn something. Or talk to your history school teacher. You have *no* idea what you are talking about. Fighting a nation is a hell of a lot different vs fighting a terrorist group (or any other private group). The fact that you lump the two together just shows how clueless you really are.

You don't even understand that wars aren't all about power. It's about how you use the power. Indiscriminate use of military power (such as murdering lots of innocent people, which is your so-called solution) doesn't help you win. It just gets more violence and pisses off the rest of the world.

Try reading about the guerrilla wars in the 1950's, especially in SE Asia. Read about how England over a period of years, stopped an insurgency in Malaya. You just might learn something. You will learn that they didn't "nuke" anyone, but still managed to win. They fought a relatively low-level, counter-insurgency campaign that took a while, but worked.

You really are clueless, aren't you? You keep digging yourself deeper and deeper with your comments. Using nuclear weapons in WWII wasn't for kindness or being mature. It was because they (Truman and Marshall) thought it would make Japan surrender without us having to physically invade their country, at the cost of 1million+ US casualties. Truman and Marshall knew that an invasion would be a bloodbath, and they did what they had to do. And since then after seeing how bad that was, no one else has ever used a nuclear weapon, but yet you want to start nuking the rest of the world anyway.

And that is irrelevant to what we are talking about anyway. Did I miss the part where Iraq and Afghanistan declared war on us, like Japan did? Did I miss the part where getting Iraq and Afghanistan to surrender would stop random terrorists from stopping thier attacks? Did I miss the part where occupying those countries would stop all terrorist attacks?

Terrorists are people, and can move from country to country, just like regular criminals. You don't nuke a whole country to capture a criminal, or invade a whole country to capture a criminal. Why, you ask? Because they move on to another country.

You capture those criminals (or terrorists) individually. You don't just wholesale murder millions of innocent people. Is that so hard to understand?

After Japan's surrender, we tried and executed those who committed war crimes. We didn't randomly go through and kill random civilians just for the hell of it. Ditto with Germany.
