Back two years ago there was a popular song called "Camel Toe." So this nice couple walks up to my friend in the HT department:

Couple: Do you have Camel Toe.
BB HT Worker: what? "Fvck you, you fvcking chode."

Classic:)

With out saying anything we both walked through the store to the back employee exit, we both took a galvanized (2" wide, 4 ft long) that we used to bar the back door and stepped out into the parking. The four kids had just got into their car. I got behind them and said "Don't move!". They clearly saw me and started backing up anyway. I jumped out of the way. At this point my fellow employee and I both lost it and started swinging. I took the front windshield and he took the rear. Before they could turn into the alley we were working on the side windows. The driver had his window down so he took a couple of shots to the head and the shoulders before they they raced away.

LOL! Untold amounts of damage over a $2 tape. Probably illegal, but OH SO SWEET.

yeah. what would have been even funnier is if he they got arrested for assult!

Some of the stories i think are BS. such as this one. but most are great. i worked at wal-mart part time and thought i seen everything. But crapping on the floor? haha eww.

ya some of these stories seem a bit farfetched...but entertaining nonetheless

This is 100% true. It wasn't the best way to handle the situation, but my fellow employee and I weren't thinking... at the point were they tried to back up over me, we were both running on emotion and adrenalin. If you've never been pushed to that point, then you can believe these things don't happen.

OK, first a little bit of setup.

Every year, a quadriplegic man with cerebral palsy would give an inspirational speech to my middle school. It was a standard speech, overcoming adversity, never letting disability get in the way of achievement, that kind of thing.

Fast forward five years. The summer after I graduated from high school, I was working at a RadioShack in a crappy, depressing mall. It was about two miles down the road from one of the city's larger malls (and that mall had one of the areas highest volume RadioShacks). The highlight of the mall was a Value City and a Hanes Factory Discount Store (and a Border's at the other end, but it was almost disconnected from the mall), which might tell you something about the clientele. Anyways, after working for a couple days, I was surprised to see the very same Dave who spoke at my middle school come into the store. He said hello, in his drawling, hard to understand voice and made benign conversation. He asked if my manager was working, and the manager wasn't working so Dave left. As I worked at RadioShack longer, I realized that Dave was a fixture at Northway Mall. He came into RadioShack everyday. He was never rude, he bought things from us whenever he needed them, but he was definitely annoying and a big waste of time, for the most part. Still, you had to feel bad for the guy.

He didn't just visit RadioShack. The guy lived in an apartment behind the mall, and he visited every single store in the mall daily, just to talk to the employees. The guys life consisted of cruising Northway Mall, and visiting a high class strip club whenever he got a chance, which was 3 or 4 nights a week. He employed as his personal assistants nothing but attractive young women, and they never worked for him for very long before he moved onto another one. One of my coworkers was somehow tricked into going to Dave's apartment to install a stereo or something, and he said that every wall was covered with porn. Posters, cut outs from magazines, porn magazines laying around. He said it was disgusting.

My point? Just because someone gives inspirational speeches doesn't mean that person is living an inspirational life. Dave never overcame his disability. He was a poor, lonely, miserable middle aged man who knew he never had and never would amount to anything and hated himself for lying to kids because of it and tried to drown his sorrows and porn and strip clubs.

Sadly, hilariously, they're not far-fetched. This is the world out there. I worked retail in my early 20's like most people. The memory that springs to mind from this thread is this one:

I worked at a family owned local grocery store/deli. The owner was beyond cool, let me carry my .45 at work, I even took him out to buy his first gun. Anyway, one Saturday, we're both workin' & notice this smelly junkie/alcoholic lingering down the HBA isle, we could smell this guy clearly from the register so we know he's stealin sh|t & not shopping for deodorant.

Fast foward to 15 min later, my boss/the owner confronts this POS & start frisking him. He 's obvioiusly an illegal and speaks zero English and tries to play the dumb Mexican part. Turns out his pockets are empty, but his fvckin pants have bulges in them. We don't really give a sh|t about the law or someone rights at that point. So my boss grabs his pants & yanks them down & this guy has two pairs of pants on, the ones underneath are tucked into his socks, so everything catches in them.

He has 4 tubes of friggin toothpaste in them! Seems beyond stupid, but junkies take things like that & return them for the cash.

I pick up the phone & call the local PD, who are worthless btw (Glendale AZ Police, take a bow, you worthless fvcks). The junkie see's me on the phone & bolts'. I drop the phone & chase after him. Normally I could care less, but it's a weekend & I was bored so I hop over the counter & go after him. My boss was chasing after him too, but the dumbass was wearing boat shoes & slipped on the oil in the parking lot as soon as he hit it.

This little crackhead runs across the parking lot & right out into traffic & runs down in between the cars stopped at the traffic light. I caught him a few yards later & put his arm in a wristlock while grabbing his neck & slamming his head into the asphalt. People are looking from their cars wondering wtf is going on as I drag this stinky fvck back into the store. There were a few people in the store who witnessed this as I threw the guy down on the floor behind the register & made him sit on the floor while I rang them up. They thought it was pretty damn funny. At one point I yelled at him: "For toothpaste motherfvcker!?"

After in indeterminate amount of time, the local PD show's up to arrest him. They notice I have my gun on & start giving me the third degree and asking me if I "drew my weapon or threatened this piece of garbage in any way". I just said "get him the fvck out of here flatfoot". Needless to say they never came into the store again. For lunch or any emergencies for that matter. Not that they were needed.

Nobody ever robbed that store while I worked there.

Wow, these stories are pretty intense. Imagine all the stories and situations that aren't going to be put on here? That's a lot to think about...

We had a customer (30 something) who wanted to exchange a used CD because he didn't like it, we didn't offer returns for that reason, in fact there were no returns on used CDs period (if you wanted a guaranty, spend $15.99 on a new CD instead of $5.99 on a used one). I had to explain over and over that we couldn't exchange it. Finally he gave in and started to look around the store (shopping). I was suspicious and kept an eye on him. He picked a CD and walked to the front register where he threw the used CD he had wanted to return onto the counter then ran out the door with the new one. I got pissed and ran out after him. We were on a four-lane boulevard with heavy traffic, but he had a break and ran across the street to his parked convertible Triumph. I got to the curb and there was another break in the traffic. So I ran across the four-lanes, ran up his bumper, his trunk, jumped with both feet into his passenger seat, dropped into the seat, looked at him, smiled and said ?Hi?. He was just closing the driver door. He looked at me and said, ?You?re serious aren?t you?, then gave me the CD back.

We had a store space where we got stuck in the lease for a few months. So we just filled the place with junk CDs at $.99 and stationed a couple of employees there. The place wasn?t busy so I didn?t really care what the employees did to keep from getting bored (as long as they didn?t keep customers waiting at the register). One thing I tried, then it became a design contest among the employees, was to take the plastic roll at the center of the register tape, attached a 4? nail to it, cut some wings out of a bin card and make the thing aerodynamic. We then took one of the aluminum rails that were used to hold up the ceiling tiles, added a rubber band and we had a rail gun! Well. The ultimate engineering feat for us, was to get your plane to rocket across the store and stick in the wall. We got quite good at it. The customers got used to it, as ours would suffer anything for a deal. I remember one asking if we could take a break so he could look at some CDs in out flight path.

At the same store as above: All kinds of whacky stuff would get traded in at our main store (I got one of my dogs that way) and I would take a lot of it to this store to entertain the troops. So I had taken them some putters, golf balls and our latest treasure: a bowling ball. I was there late one night with one other employee. No one was in the store. We were trying different things, when one of those mysteries of life popped into my head: what happens when you drop a bowling ball on a golf ball? So we placed a golf ball on the ground. I leaned over the counter and tried positioning the bowling ball for dropping. This wasn?t going to be accurate enough. I stood on the counter so I could look down and target a little better. Always safety conscious, we agreed that the other employee should stand between the golf ball and the glass front door to ?block? the ball from breaking the glass. With everyone situated, I dropped the bowling ball. The bowling ball hit the golf ball. I was about a quarter of an inch off target. The golf ball SHOT across the store (40ft), away from the glass door and the ?blocking? employee, and embedded itself in the plasterboard a mere inch from the ceiling! You could smell burn rubber from the compression of the golf ball. I?m sure the ?blocking? employee was thinking how he would have explained to his mother that she wouldn?t be having any grand children. I was thinking ?where would I have hidden his body if the golf ball had gone the other direction?.

now you see, electronics has a rule that what's in lockup...gets purchased right there. no walking around the store first.

i showed up to work before the store opened and i see a huge line of people waiting for these sp's. The store opens and i did my usual take my sweet ass time getting coffee and walking up to the area. What do i see when i arrive? My superior frantically handing everyone a SP like she was under fire. and shes a pretty tough chick..one of the rocker types.. People started walking away and I just saw thousands of dollars being stolen..so naturally i took charge..

"WOW, nu uh! Get on back here everyone. Those will be rang up here before you leave this dept."

"But she said ...."

"Im here now..things have changed. Come on back and we'll ring you up"

needless to say 4 or 5 ppl gave them back to us cause they had no intention of buying them..and i saw her slowly start to breathe again lol.

one of those..you had to be there things..but it was funny nonetheless

How were they going to leave the store with them, with the theft protection thing inside?

lol i remember another...

during my lunch breaks i would of course eat, and then go outside for a cig and play my gameboy sp. it was about 8 oclock at night and i was around the corner or the front entrance smoking and playing my sp by the lawn and garden. now mind you i wear a flannel jacket so u cant tell im an employee when im trying to get the fvck out of the store.

so im playing my game when i notice a girl about 16 standing by herself inside the lawn and garden area. now this area is closed at this time so im a little suspicious. shes talking on the phone to someone who i realize later is her gf inside the store. she's looking at me the whole time. a few mins pass by and out comes her friend holding a bunch of cds cuddle in her arms.

her friend gives her the cds and they walk over to the gate. and im sitting there...watching them...in plane view and the sound of my game blasting away thinking..."you can't be serious." sure enough she bends down, and places the cd's under the gate one by one. i almost did nothing out of feeling sorry for the lack of common sense this girl had.

but alas i stood up, lifted my flannel and brought my walkie talkie out. "umm, ya TPS (security) we got a couple girls tossing cd's under the gate out here in lawn in garden." the girl FINALLY gets a clue after seeing me on the radio and starts walking towards the entrance back into the store lol. cant remember if we got them or not..but i was on my lunch and didnt care so i went back to playing my game lol.

and heres another...

now when i worked at this store i keep mentioning, i was the man for electronics. i wasnt security and therefore legally was not supposed to be involved in any such cases. but alas when your manager is ur age, sh!t happens lol.

so i see the manager walk over and he explains the situation:

2 guys
known theives
half of security gone home for the night...which leaves one guy lol and 3 exits.

so security took one door, the manager took the other..and guess who got to take the back exit that is only accessible by entering the employee stocking area, and just happens to be where they are now...me

so im waiting by the door all hyped up cause ive been given the order to kill (so to speak) and dont have to restrain myself like ive had to thusfar in the store. so im walking around drinking my drink, smoking a cig when i hear...

"THE FRONT..THEY GOT BY ME" from an out of breath security who was running...and this guys in good shape. so i put down my drink and take off and see them running across the street, so i cut cause my angle was the one they were running.

but this guy is FAST!! dont know what happened to the other one, and at the point of intersection where i shouldve been able to meet him..he was already there a couple seconds before me..so im about to lose him...so i still have my walkie talkie in my hand and i decide to use it. i chuck it at the dude's ankle and make him trip over himself and we grab him on the ground. the other guy got away.

and yet...another there was a severe thunderstorm around my store and the power had been going out everywhere...and so all the dept leads came over to me in electronics and we were having a discussion with the managers...now this happens to be another night where we got a cool boss on duty who dont give a fvck.

im like man...if these lights go out..we're in trouble. and it also just so happens that this boss earlier had recieved a phone call threatening his life and this person said they were coming down there. so we had multiple problems. so we decided we needed to place people near the front to block anyone who would try to loot the store. but i had a better idea.

i disappeared and the boss was looking around for me..and when he turned around, he saw me walking down the main aisle towards him with a few bats and flashlights from sporting goods. i walked up and distributed them to a couple of my guys and when i was done we stopped and looked at eachother.

he gave me this, "damn good idea but im going to act like i didnt see it look" lol..actually he was like...fvck it..this sh!t aint happening on my watch so gave me free reign to do as i saw fit..

nothing happened that night..but it was a night to remember

Oh man, i have too many to count when i worked at bestbuy.

One time, my coworker was helping this guy who was being a total prick. So the guy i was working with was new and he asked if i could mention the warranty to the guy since he really didnt know all the facts about it yet.

So i go to the guy who is buying a $1200 digital camera and ask him if he wants the PSP. He goes, "no and I don't want to hear another word about it ok." And kinda being caught off guard because i asked him politely i said, "Ok sir, its just my job to ask you, I was making sure"

Then he replies with, "Well I just said I dont want it so just be quiet."

I was like, WTF. So i decide to play with the guy since he's gonna be a prick. "Ok sir, because its a $1200 camera.. you sure??"

He then gets even more ticked and says, "Listen you say another word and im leaving, so YOU go stand over THERE." Pointing to another department.

I reply with a nice and polite, "well actually sir this is my department and you would be mad if you came here for help and I was somewhere else so I think I'll stay right here."

LOL, the guy says "Fine, im outta here." Leaves and on the way out, tells a manager what happened. Manager comes to me and says, "did you hastle this guy about warranties?" I say, "No, but i did kinda push him when he was rude. And every morning meeting you guys tell us to push these down the customers throat so i was just doing what you tell me." End of conversation, manager walks away LOL.

eh, that happens far too often imo. I worked at future [sweat] shop until a month ago (which is owned by best buy btw)
and besides, your manager was probably happy that the customer walked away because they'd rather sell that camera to someone else so as to keep their numbers pretty.
my guess your manager only asked you in case the customer was watching him

the best is when we get people like that come back for service and be all like "WTFFF do you mean I have to call the manufacturer for the warranty?"

I worked at future [sweat] shop until a month ago (which is owned by best buy btw)
and besides, your manager was probably happy that the customer walked away because they'd rather sell that camera to someone else so as to keep their numbers pretty.
my guess your manager only asked you in case the customer was watching him

the best is when we get people like that come back for service and be all like "WTFFF do you mean I have to call the manufacturer for the warranty?"

service plans 9/10 suck...but that guy shouldve been slapped either way
