1) check all cable connections for tightness--a little bit more than finger tight.
2) if you use a splitter, try removing it to see if that helps. (I've had a splitter fail once--took days to find.)

A couple of years ago, Comcast told me the same thing. I made an agreement with them--the technician would check the line at the wall in my apartment. If the signal was good, I would pay for the visit. It turned out they had a corroded connection in the telephone closet.

An angle to use when talking to them--always emphasize the loss of the phone. There are federal laws about the reliability of phone service that makes cable companies nervous.

Good advice RT. 🙂 I'll pick up an spare splitter at Radio Shack next time I'm there.

Looks like Sicituradastra has added significant resources to the project.

We've moved into 5th place!!🙂

Great crunching everyone!! 😀

I wonder what they have access to, that allows them to rapidly climb through the charts like that.

Sicituradastra is a powerful team that has rapidly recruited over the last year or so. I'm assuming their resources come from enthusiasts who built/own their own rigs. They have a strong leader who happens to be a quite attractive woman from Norway. 😱

The big points increase yesterday has an explanation. They awarded credits to the canceled betas. I had 552 WUs given credit. My pending is in the 300's instead of the 900's!

Crunch a bunch before you munch at lunch!

Today: Petrusbroder, Biodoc, and RT are in the production top 10; Biodoc and Petrusbroder are in the overall top 10.

The TeAm is #3 in production and #5 overall.

YeAh, TeAm!

The TeAm is in 4th place! If we ramp it up a bit, we could be in 2nd place by the end of the month!

I have just ordered an AMD 1100T (instead of Bulldozer) to help out in this cause.

Watch your backs!

Congrats on the AMD 1100T. RT!

My 1090T does very well on Correlizer. Right now it's running at 3.6 GHz.

I'm all in on Correlizer!!! Go TeAm!

Yeah, the TeAm does good. We are #3 in production ... and I am ramping up one or two more comps ... lets see if I can persuade some out-of-home-computers to participate (they crunch on but I have no controll over them because the project manager has lost connection ...)

Is this BOINC?

Edit: How do you sign up? I clicked "Tools" "Add Project", and it's not listed.

Edit: Ok, I did it manually. What's the team name on this project?

Edit: Ok, I think I'm set up for Correlizer. Have to see how it works out. Looks like it doesn't do any GPU WUs yet.

I've got two "BioMedical Genome Correlations 1.00" tasks, and they are sitting at 0.00% done, after four minutes, even though they estimate a total completion time of only 28minutes or less. It seems like they aren't running. Do I need to do something in my prefs? Or are the estimates way, way, off, and these WUs take days? Or do they just not report their progress back to BOINC?

bump for more questions in previous post. Do these WUs sit at 0.00% done for their entire duration? Or do they update as they go along?

Edit: Thanks mk. So I can just leave them running at 0.00%, and they really are running then?

Progress isn't updated so it's 0% when unfinished and 100% when finished.

As far as I can tell there are also no checkpoints(?). If you quit BOINC while there are unfinished tasks all the progress is lost.

Yes, no checkpoints as yet. The latest beta app, 1.07, has progress updates and checkpoints and also has support for 64 bit Windows. So far so good for me on both 64-bit windows and 64-bit linux although I've only been crunching the beta for 24 hours. 😉
