Bonus question: Does anyone carry a card tool?

I got one for my mother (she loves it) cuz she didnt wanna carry the keychain tool. As small as it was she still didnt like the bulk.

I've also had the lil guppie but didnt like carrying it.

For reference, I used to carry just a small Kershaw Chive, and now I keep a Leatherman Micra on me. It fits in my coin pocket nicely.

Does the compass in the card actually work properly? With and without the different removable metals (knife, opener).

Deus Ex reply is automatic win.

As for the compass issue: I have never seen a small, cheap compass that works well. My mom hasnt said anything so I guess she doesnt use it.
Actually, she'd do better to figure out the compass on her phone instead. With GPS assistance it probably works much better.

Did MacGyver use a fucking multi tool? No. He used a Swiss Army Knife. That's what I use. That's what real men use. Everyone knows this.

i have carried both, i have used my SOG multitool orders of magnitude more than my swiss army knife. my multitool has a leather pouch that goes on my belt, weighs near a pound i would guess but has never gotten in the way of anything. i have the sog powerlock eod. i got the eod version because i use the wire crimper quite a bit and sometimes the det cord crimper at work.

Multi-tools have real pliers in addition to everything the other options have.

Got dinky swiss army knives on most of my keychains... mostly used them for cutting nails and opening packages, etc.

for anything else I use real tools, can't be bothered to use halfass stuff. infuriating.

I almost always have my Leatherman multitool on my belt along with a small flashlight and a folding razor knife in my pocket.

Multitool > SAK if you need pliers.

I carry an SAK classic on my keyring. I'm planning on getting a small Leatherman sometime soon.

I wish they made multitools without blades. I already carry a bigger pocket knife all of the time, I don't need another blade.

Yes, for we are men. Noble, brave men with little toys in our pockets. Not to mention multitools.

lol, men don't need tools on them to feel manly. Going out to dinner or a bar or the movies and bringing tools with you doesn't make you look manly, it makes you look weird. Like one of those weirdos that has a vest or cargo pants with tons of pockets stuffed with tools and condiments.

Yeah, because the SAK on my keyring makes me look weird :hmm: It weighs barely nothing and is very useful.

Last week I was out with a girl who was getting poked in her boob by the remnants of a price tag on her bra. I'm sure she thought I was weird when she was able to cut it off with the scissors on my swiss army knife.🙄

Wow!
There are so many things wrong with that sentence I am afraid to continue the conversation. The fail seems to be growing exponentially and I am afraid it will overwhelm the thread.

So you need scissors to cut off a price tag? If I need tools I keep them in the trunk of my car.

ORLY? Tell that to my GF when (before we were official) I was over at her place and she couldn't find the cork screw for the wine. Guess who busted out his multi-tool's cork screw and saved the day? Being prepared is sexy.

I've also used it to widen a hole in a chain link fence (legal), cut off bar/hospital entry bracelets, repair one of my friend's glasses, and other handy stuff.

Not to mention mine is in a front pocket unless I'm using it, so yeah. Looks weird my ass.
