Swiftkey 3 Out

Anybody else have problems with the update lagging or not keeping up with their typing? I usually use swype, but had Swiftkey X from a while ago and decided to try the update. However it seems very slow and doesn't keep up with my typing... something that didn't happen before the update, or on any other keyboard.

Other than that, I like it. I like how I can shrink the keyboard to see more screen. It's less accurate, but it almost always knows what I meant so it doesn't matter.

I kind of have that problem on occasion. But holy crap at Swype, I'm a convert now. Use SwiftKey for landscape though.

Couldn't stay with SwiftKey. Went back to Swype today. It's just better, at least for me. With SwiftKey I feel like I'm moving in slow motion. One handed typing is faster too.

It's just a first impression, but I've been using Swiftkey 3 for a couple days now and the prediction seems worse than it used to be. I used to find myself only typing two to three letters most of the time before the word I wanted was in the center prediction button, but now it seems to love suggesting obscure words until I'm four five letters in. Again, just an impression, I haven't done side by side tests or anything.

Edit: And I'm having the contractions issue that some other people are talking about.

Have you updated the language packs?

Thats funny.
Unlike most people in this forum, I've used both platform on a regular basis so I can make comments objectively, unlike yourself.
I've gone from HD2>3GS>G2>Vibrant>IP4>G2x>GS2>IP4 again>One S.
Yeah, I think the problem isn't me.

I have both iOS and Android devices. By far, I prefer Android keyboards.

Ok, before this thread spirals into an iOS vs Android war again, let's recall that comparing iOS and Android keyboards is different in that screen sizes plays a role, so when someone says they LOVE the Android keyboard, is that because of the 4.3" screen making it 10x easier to type? What if you used the ICS stock keyboard on a 3.5" screen? How usable is that compared to the iOS keyboard on 3.5" What if you had both keyboards on 4.3" or 4.7"? Just food for thought.

screen size means nothing here, I make less mistakes typing on my iPod Touch than on my Note. To throw WP7 into this debate, I also type better on the WP7. If Apple comes out with a 4" iPhoneI doubt I'd be able to type any better than I do on 2G Touch. IMHO the iOS keyboard is proof that screen size isn't nearly as important as how good the screen is touch wise. Of course that's just my opinion, but my results don't lie, for me any ways. I really don't understand how I type so much more accurately on iOS or WP7, but I somehow do.

Okay, I like Android tablet keyboards better than iPads.

Eh, I'm done with swiftkey. This lag/stutter is not worth dealing with. Not sure what happened between X and 3 but something got screwed.

You should try resetting the language model, and re-downloading the language pack. I had a lot of issues until I did that as well. They changed something that didn't play nice with the older version's files I think...

Bought this yesterday, and it crushes the default ICS keyboard. I've only been on Android for a couple months, but the difference between default and Swiftkey is major. Glad I bought it, thanks for the heads up!
