I dunno about the other guy hopefully he will read what was just said and relaize im on his side too..

I still don't agree with riding between cars at a stopped light, but as long as you're not cutting people off on the highway, I'm cool 🙂 My primary concern is safety. As long as a rider is being safe, I'm a-ok.

Cheers.

k bro just for the record thats not an every day thing either =)

When ever I hear a bike coming, I try to give them space on my right to pass me. I don't mind lane splitting at all, most of the time you can hear the bikes coming. What I can't stand is a MASS amount of idiot motorcyclists swarming together. They impede traffic. A few weeks ago there were 20 or so on the middle divider of a 6 lane highway like street! They were being video taped by a guy in a mustang. These fvckers pulled out and made me stop short, as I waited for each one of them to pull out onto the lanes. Yes, they stopped traffic so they could ride together! Not to mention, they were riding slow as sh!t. I swear to god, I wanted to run those fvckers over.

read the post 1 page back...
noone is completely understanding what i wrote...

The difference is you generalized all car drivers as "cage driving asshats" where as I'm specifically referring to the morons who go 90+mph on the highway with their motorcycles weaving in and out of traffic. Also it's obvious which side you're on by you're calling me an asshat for condemning the speeding morons.

lol first peeps are riding too fast now too slow
lol there is no happy meduim!

we do the group things also.. the cops that ride bikes with us on the weekends block peeps for us so we all stay together.. its really fun though... motocycling is such a social event on the weekends..
our usual ride to the beach is over 50 bikes.. we all go as a group and we take head counts to make sure everyone is ok.

i know it kinda sucks but usually the group moves pretty fast and uses 1 lane riding 2 to a lane...
not to mention peeps trip out when you see 50-60 bikes all riding in formation together... (not hauling ass or anything just chilling and riding)

no bro... read your post again you wished me specifiially a death.....

"Exactly! They're future darwin award winners like CVSiN."

"I'll be glad when your dumb ass rams into my car and explodes You're a moron All it takes is someone who starts changing lanes and you're moronic ass won't see them in time if you're going 150mph or whatever. And you don't just kill yourself, you end up hurting others. Of course, from your post, you're too stupid to understand that. So go troll elsewhere. "

and then you called me a darwin winner.. thats not generalizing anything.. thats flat out attacking me...

yes of course im on the bikers side.. not THESE bikers but bikers in general we get a bad rap for no reason except the asshat stunters and Biker Boy morons...

That is 100% cool with me, but there was already thick traffic!

Err I completely understand what you wrote 😉

And Shock, I apologise if my previous posts sounded like I was having a pop at you they weren't really meant to sound like that (I've just re-read them and didn't like the way the first one sounded), it takes a big man to back down as in your last post to CSViN and I salute you for that 🙂 I think that's one of the big problems with this form of conversation over a spoken one, so many things can be taken out of context and blown up all out of proportion. Please accept my apology.

It aint no thing. I'll be the first to admit when I'm wrong! But, when a discussion is focused on X, and someone posts about Y but doesnt say that, its easy to take out of context. In this case we were discussing bikes on highways, and CV was discussing bikes at stoplights (In terms of lane splitting).
Thats what had me so confused, if you read CV's first post under the assumption he is talking about highway driving, you really have to think he's completely psycho on his bike!! When you read it under the assumption he's talking about at redlights its a WHOLE different read.

A flame fest that turned into a love fest. Don't see that too often.

For the SUV/car haters, How would you recommend I buy and bring home groceries for my family(wife and 2 kids under 5) if I don't drive a gas guzzling cage? How do I take my family anywhere together? When I buy a new appliance or piece of furniture how do I get it home? Have them deliver it? Oh wait they have to have a gas guzzling cage of a truck.

I understand your love for motorcycles. I have been riding since I was 17 and love to ride as much as I can but there is no way I am putting my wife, 4, and 2 year old on the back of a bike to go to Grandma's house. What else am I supposed to drive? Should I walk? Sorry the kids won't make it 15 miles. Your arguments and harsh words towards cars makes no sense to anyone with a legitimate use for one.

I just don't understand why CVSiN hates cars so much. You had to have grown up driving a car and being driven around in a car. Your parents drove you to school in a car. You learned to drive a car before a bike. I'm sure you need to use a car when you go shopping for things.

cars are fine.

big SUV's make your dear family 11% more likely to die if they get into an accident.

If you take a motorcycle class, or ride one in traffic for that matter, you'll realize that a lot of drivers out there are oblivious to what is going on around their vehicles. I suppose that hate for idiot drivers has translated into cars. 😀

A handful of motorcyclists were on Highway 364 Saturday when they changed lanes and cut off a Ford Explorer, forcing that vehicle to swerve to the right and hit a Chevrolet Suburban.

A motorcylce FORCED an SUV to swerve? WTF... stupid old lady should have stayed in her lane.

Something my father taught me many years ago when he was teaching me how to drive... the example was that if a dog jumped out in front of your car, and your only options were to hit the dog or to swerve and possibly cause an accident, then you should hit the dog.

Same logic applies here. That a big SUV driver didn't use that simple basic driving logic, and instead panicked and swerved resulting in a serious accident, does not surprise me.

Maybe she was putting on her makeup 😀 You can't blame her. It's all those evil bikers fault 😀

The SUV swerved to avoid the bike, which most people would have done. In doing so, it hit a Chevy. What's the problem? Are you saying you'd have let the bike hit you? Sorry, but people's first reactions are to attempt to avoid any kind of accident.

I very much doubt she swerved to avoid the bike. As stupid as some riders are I don't think they would intentionally hit a vehicle with their bike considering there's no protection for them. I am guessing, like everyone else here, that she panicked and thought that the bike was going to hit her car.

my first drivers license was a class M only license.. my first vehicle was an 1986 Kawasaki Ninja 600R
I didnt get my first car till i got married which was a Mustang for the wife...
which i promptly suped up till it was able to beat bikes in the 1/4 mile 🙂

I grew up in cars but that doesnt mean I have to like them =P
I go to the grocery store on my bike.. i get a few days worth of food at a time and I have large items delievered by UPS or Fed EX..
you dont need a car unless you have multiple people to move around or live in harsh climates...

I'm a full-time rider as well (no car), and I will say that many car drivers don't need to be driving a car. However, that's how it is, and that's what we have to deal with.

One thing I will disagree with, though: your comment involving lane splitting back on the first page. Lane splitting is only legal in California; in every other state it's considered wreckless driving, and will land you a ticket. However, the way that police officers react depends on many different things, including the density of traffic and what kind of bike you're riding. Hell, it sucks that I'm targeted on my GSX-R because of all the other a$$hats that ride down the highway at 100mph doing wheelies, but it's understandable.

I personally don't see many problems with lane splitting at a stop light, etc. when traffic isn't moving...but beyond that, if it's illegal in your state, then it really shouldn't be done. Most drivers aren't prepared for that kind of thing, and to have a motorcycle streak by their window at 70+ mph could be pretty disconcerting. It also pisses a LOT of them off. The other day I was at a red light, and the driver next to me left a good 20 ft. between him and the car in front of him. I decided to go ahead and pull in front of said driver, and he decides to speed up as I do so. He then curses me out at the next traffic light, and follows me for a few miles afterwards trying to hit me.

The point of the above story? Car drivers can be a$$holes. A$$hole car drivers react in an a$$hole fashion when they feel that their "personal space" is being invaded. A$$hole car drivers have 2000+lbs on us motorcycle riders. Either way we lose, even if we're in the right of way; it's just not worth the risk of having some jacka$$ try to bump you on purpose.

Oh ya bro i got some stories about road raged drivers too
thats not just a cali thing =) ya I knew that cali that law was for sure on the books... but I was told there are a couple oddball states that have that old law on the books still as well.
hey If im wrong im wrong 🙂 ..

Heh trust me, I wish it were legal down here in GA, but I know it's not...you're right, though; I can't say for sure whether or not it's allowed in any other state.

And as much as the road-raged drivers might piss me off, they do make for some very entertaining stories. I just wish they'd come to understand that yes, it is quite legal to drive a motorcycle on the street...and no, that doesn't inherently make me an a$$hole.
