I'm surprised thee were 165 possible peoples that would travel between those two cities that close together. It must have been his worst year. Only 2 nukes have been dropped in war and he's at both sites.

From TFA:

Mr. Yamaguchi was in his Nagasaki office, telling his boss about the Hiroshima blast, when “suddenly the same white light filled the room,” he said in an interview last March with The Independent newspaper.

Must've been a hell of a moment.

How unlucky can one human be? Then again he did live until 93.

wow that's crazy lol, the odds of surviving two bombs is quite something, not to mention he was talking about one when the second hit lol.

I wonder if they've studied his genes at all.. maybe there was something odd in them, you'd figure he'd at least get some sort of problems from radiation.

I can only imagine what he thought when he saw that insanely bright light for the 2nd time...

"Awwww... not this shit again!"

Sad part was that the A weapon was the only way to pacify the Japanese.
:(
That was the only way to make them surrender and quit playing the stupid, unnecessary war.

Edit: NSFW
Japanese Nanking Massacre in 1937
Edit: Feel sorry for the guy, but, the Japanese government brought it upon itself.

Isn't that the incident in which the Japanese are denying it ever happened [or it wasn't as bad as the Chinese claim]?

I just wonder if the nuke bombs didn't somehow screw up the Japanese - I mean..look at what they do on TV... it's freakin weird man! :)

My condolences to his family. The man holds an impressive record, one I hope that no one will ever have to top.

I've said it before and will say it again: Time will kill us all! Gather your Watches and your Clocks, go to the Town Square and burn them all before it's too late!!!

The pacification of Japan is the direct result of the US showing Japan and its people what real power is. Look at the Japanese today. Do they have a culture that celebrates flying planes into buildings and blowing up innocents in busses? No. They have been pacified by power. That is what our current enemies don't understand. They don't understand what real terror is. They don't understand death and destruction. They just think they do. That is why they continue to fight. They think they can win. We must show them just how wrong they are. Everyone knows this.

Just today I read about him in George Will's column

Tsutomu Yamaguchi, 93, was on a business trip in Hiroshima on Aug. 6, 1945. Three days later he was back home in Nagasaki. He also survived 2009. Common sense did not.
