I considered getting a 'support the troops' magnet. I thought it would balance out my "Bush made me a democrat" sticker. I got my buddy in the Marines drunk on tequila on saturday. It was a grand ol' time and I supported one troop. :) He's gonna get deployed to Iraq later in the year so I'll miss having him around to hang out. He and his wife have a 10 month old girl so I hope he makes it back safe and sound. When I think of supporting the troops, I think about the friends I have over there or the one on his way or the one that's back from 2 tours already. They're all human beings; reasonable people put in an unreasonable situation. I honor them by listening to what they have to say.

Actually I did go in with some other people and send a care package to some people that I know are in Iraq who are members of our church. So Yes I did something for a soldier.

We all support the men and woman in the military

Everyone likes to say this, but there is a certain 17 - 23% of the population who really hate them.

Guess who...

I have never meant a single indiviual who actually wants American troops to die in Iraq.

I have met plenty of liberals that want that just so they can claim they were right about Iraq. They also want the economy to tank to blame it on Bush. Disgusting pigs is what I say.

The great thing is, the liberals claim to be right about Iraq was cemented the day we ceased our search for WMDs.

Kthxbye.

Nice sig, that is also disgusting.

Thanks!

I'd love to find one of the jerks that steal those in the act. I would take every other magnet in the parking lot and with jerk in one hand, pop rivet tool and drill in the other, decorate said jerks car. I believe in doing something nice for another human being every day.

While a person could throw a hundred ribbons on their car to support the troops, and I wouldn't care, I certainly *wonder* about people who feel they have to prove themselves to everyone else.

Jpeyton, or whatever his name is, openly stated his support for the terrorists

I don't want to speak for Jpeyton, but I recall him saying that insurgens are freedom fighters or something along those lines. That is not necessarily inconsistent with not wanting American troops to die. You can hope the insurgents win and that no Americans die. Do you want Iraqis to die? If you answer no its the same rational.

Anyway, there are probably some Americans out there that do want US troops to die. There are Americans that believe lots of things. However, a lot of cheap-patriotism fans try to act like most Democrats do or even a sizeable portion of anti-war people want troops to die. That's what is bogus.

Here we have a fine example of a Christian conservative. What happened to turning the other cheek?

Where? Is it because he points out our failure of policy in Iraq and our casuality rates?

Perhaps it is time to dust off the quote book? I have quotes from no less than 4 regular posters wishing death on troops &/or Americans. And a series of about 7 doing the same, or condoning assassination of Bush or other administration members.

PS Nice troll Todd33. Are you back to yourself fully now? Been sporadic visits since November...

And since JPeyton has decided to post in this thread, and being the attention whore that he is, he'll love to be quoted I'm sure.

Topic: Gunmen Kill 22 Police in Attacks in Western Iraq
Jpeyton: "More power to them."
"I'm crossing my fingers that we lose horribly in Iraq."

on the military in Iraq:
"their actions so far demand no respect. "

While I sport no ribbons/banners/fish, I fail how you get to claim that everyone who has one is "faking support" for our troops. While there's no doubt that some people buy them for show and don't think twice about after putting it on their bumber, there are probably many who have close freinds/relatives in the services, or spend countless hours and $$ directly helping our troops. Nice of you to dismiss their actions and commitment in one fell swoop.

Maybe no one should fly the American flag, either. I mean, come on, we all support our nation, but that's no excuse to use it as decoration.

We're all glad that you are so high-n-mighty that you feel it necessary to express your faux outrage and indignation in front of an audience, but perhaps this is best placed in OT, as it is neither politics, nor news.

Perhaps jpeyton would like to expound?

Only the first one suggests he may want US troops to die but it would depend on the context. Anyway, even if jpeyton didn't want them to die, there's probably an American out there who does. I don't see how that justifies the magnets.

So losing horribly in Iraq would just mean a bunch of fleshwounds? Perhaps he was speaking about at a soccer game?

I know you self-admittedly don't support the troops Infohawk, but I wouldn't think even you'd stoop so low as to try and defend the semantics of someone wishing death on US troops? Nah, of course you would!

Again, it doesn't follow. It's the same attitude Bush probably has about Iraqis. Do you hope Iraqis die? Hopefully not. Does this mean it's reasonable to assume some won't when you invade and occupy a country? Of course not. Doesnt' mean you want them to die. At most it means you think it's a necessary consequence.

I can't say I support or don't support the troops without knowing more about what that means. As I've said, it's an empty statement.

but I wouldn't think even you'd stoop so low as to try and defend the semantics of someone wishing death on US troops? Nah, of course you would!
An emotional attack... *yawn*

Well, I guess if I said "I want the Iraqis to lose horribly" you could probably assume I wanted Iraqis to die. No - not in Infohawks funny grey world, where grey only goes black or white when he agrees with it, or vice versa.

Speaking of emotional attacks, let's explore some of your feelings on the troops, shall we?

"I don't know if Australia is that much less barbarous than our United States. Aren't they part of the Iraqi Occupation "Stormtrooper" force?"

"They tend to concentrate their efforts on black people and innocent Iraqis however. "

Are those just empty statements? From them, I'm guessing you don't show them much respect, much less support them.

Really? Do you want Iraqis to die? Didn't you want the US to win wonderfully? Does that mean you wanted them to die? Anyway, it could be that is what he meant by that statement, but it doesn't follow from the statement directly. Again, I'd imagine many Americans want the US to win all its wars completely and absolutely, but that they hope nobody on either side dies in the process.

Let's explore some of your feelings on the troops, shall we?
Is that really interesting or on topic? If you are going to explore it, ask specific questions.

I just find great humour in the lengths that you'll go to defend a (fellow?) traitor.

Your ad hom emotional post is not worthy of a response beyond this one.
