"Support Our Troops" ribbons rank right up there with the "United We Stand" printouts and antenna-sized American flags...all cheap garbage for the armchair patriots.

Yes, those people exist, but not 1 in 5. Liberals don't want troops dead, a$$ holes want people dead. Your statement is as retarded as me saying conservatives would rather see poor children starve rather then provide food at their expense.

Well if all of the a$$holes are liberals, draw your own conclusions. Considering the foaming at the mouth ranting I see here every day, and the insane willingness to balme everything on Bush, I suspect that more true liberals fall into this catagory than you would want to believe. Most of the liberal leadership sure does.

Also. I am sure that there are plenty of examples of your second though. Every liberal tax the poor argument comes to mind here. I am actually quite sure that you have also made these arguments.

So you can quite feeling quite so high and mighty at any moment...

almost all people who don't support the troops happen to be liberals; very few liberals don't support the troops.

how hard is it to understand that before throwing out sweeping generalizations / flamebait?

You are conclusive proof that all the assholes are not liberals. IMO narrow minded extremists like you are really no different than the Micheal Moores and the Jesse Jacksons.

Right. It's ultimately meaningless and frequently not backed up by anything. Actions speak louder than words. We all pay taxes that support the war. That's why I suggest a "cheap patriotism" tax on flags and pins and magnets. Proceeds will go towards the Iraq war. :p

BTW here in Liberal Boston it seems alost every other car has one of those stickers on. In fact the only ones that don't are the high priced vehicles. Of course you really can blame them, they are paying out the ass for those cars.

i'm willing to bet that members of certain hate groups who would like to overthrow the gov't want the troops to die as well. but either way i'd also rank sending the troops to war when not necessary as tantamount to wishing them dead anyway...

here in cambridge (the people's republican aka bastion of liberalism) this is also the case but the "support our troops" stickers are often next to "reelect gore" and "plant a bush back in texas" stickers. :D

Well, then, we might as well not have an army.

I am sure that would work out well...

you aren't even making sense. perhaps an example would help:

WWII: necessary
Desert Storm: necessary
current Iraq Fiasco: possibly unnecessary (without all of the intelligence i can't be 100% sure)

You're dilusional if you think, the people on this board are an accurate representation of the average american... liberal or republican. Both sides here are full of propogandists. By the way, I found it interesting that you used the word "true liberal". I think its telling that you refer to those that support the death of troops as "true liberals". Whether you intended to or not, you've just become another pundit.
Also. I am sure that there are plenty of examples of your second though. Every liberal tax the poor argument comes to mind here. I am actually quite sure that you have also made these arguments.
Feel free to search my past posts if you'd like. After all, I'm a liberal so I must fall into your neat little definition of the evil liberal. Maybe, I'm even one of the "true liberals" that you're talking about! LOL... Tell you what. I'll make it easy for you. In the past (probably not on this board though), I have made some stupid arguements along those lines. I admit they were stupid, though, and I grow so that I can find the truth and learn. What are you doing other than seeking to find affirmation here of what you allready believe.

So you can quite feeling quite so high and mighty at any moment...

lol... I'm not the one that missed the lob pitch. You blew an easy one and came out looking as bad as the OP.

It's called free-speech... and it bothers me that people attempting to show their patriotism are so "bothersome" to you.

It bothers me when people waste their money on useless crap when they could just as easily have donated that $2 (or more) to Disabled American Veterans, Paralyzed Veterans of America etc. That would show their patriotism a lot more, but of course it requires actual effort.

So you spent $2 on a magnet and lined some guys pockets. You still drive your SUV. You still get 12 miles.gallon. Did you join the army yet? Did you send body armor to the troops? Did you give up your tax break to pay for the war?

Enough with the fake support, those ribbons don't mean jack $hit.

My kids in the Army. I've had like 5 magnets stolen. They mean something to me.

Everyone likes to say this, but there is a certain 17 - 23% of the population who really hate them.

Guess who...

I have never meant a single indiviual who actually wants American troops to die in Iraq.

I have met plenty of liberals that want that just so they can claim they were right about Iraq. They also want the economy to tank to blame it on Bush. Disgusting pigs is what I say.

and yet, that's a small number of liberals.

most people, whether they are liberal or conservative, want what's best for America. anyone who doesn't shouldn't be called a liberal, they should be called an asshat.

And you are an over generalizing lair is what I say. I know plenty of Conservatives, Moderates and Liberals who think the war in Iraq is a tremendous mistake. I also know of plenty who believe that despite it being a trendous mistake we have to finish the job. Besides a fewe nuts here I have yet to meet anybody who root for American Troops to die just because it makes Bush look bad. Hell Bush lwill look bad no matter what since his main reason for going to war has been shown to be a bunch of Bull Sh!t

Sadly, many times when one of these morons appears, it just fuels the flames because it seems to gives liberty to the other side to quote him as an example of the sentiments of "all liberals" or "most conservatives." Maybe they are double-agents?

The great thing is, the liberals claim to be right about Iraq was cemented the day we ceased our search for WMDs.

Kthxbye.
