I say dinner.. but i think back in the day my grandma used to say dinner was the equivalent of lunch. and thats why some people say supper.

I use them interchangably. Always grew up with Supper though.

Breakfast -> morning snack -> lunch(noon) -> lunch(4pm) -> evening snack ->dinner.

there was no supper!

I think dinner was originally the principal meal of the day, whether it was at lunch time or supper time.
In earlier days, many ate their main meal at lunch time so as to have energy for the physical work of the rest of the day.
