Superman vs Spiderman

you know, i'd really like to knwo all these cross over story lines w/o having to read the comics.... heh

It's kind of unfair to pit anyone against superman. I mean, with the exception of Kryptonite, he basically invincible right? That's why I never read the comics.

Now Batman! THAT's a cool comic character. Him vs. Spidey would be way trickier. Batman's got the brains, some brawn, and cool gadgets. Spidey's got brawn and speed/agility and the spidey-sense, but, aside from a quick wit, not really in the same intellectual category as Bruce.

oh yeah....back to the OP's question: Superman....but Batman > Superman.

Superman is also affected by a red sun and magic.

Batman totally wins vs spiderman. Spiderman doesn't have the wits, skill, training, or cool factor.

actually most of the time when batman and superman went at it batman won. Now i agree spiderman vs batman would be pretty good but no way would spidy win.

In another crossover (actually when they merged universes) the Thing (maybe it was the hulk?) went against superman and it was close. but superman still won.

only time i have seen superman even THINK he killed batman it was a ploy to make everyone think batman was dead.

can't remember the series. but both were old and gothem was taken over by diffrent gangs.

Supes is very vulnerable to all the magic users in the DCU. There are so many gods, goddesses and magic users in the DCU it's confusing.

Doctor Fate could take him.

On the strength side, Valor and Lobo are pretty much equal to Supes. Orion (New God) and Etrigan the Demon is in there as well. Not to mention Hercules, Zeus and the other Olympians.

The Azzarello(sp?) Supermans are pretty good. He's one of the hottest writers at the moment, and lives up to the hype.

Robin's been going strong for a few months now, and War Games has almost convinced me to sign on for the rest of the Gotham crew. The Catwoman murder mystery just started, but it's pretty hot so far.

Identity Crisis is kind of cool, not sure exactly where it's going though.

But yeah, DCU is pretty weak. Still better than 99% of the Marvel crap though.

After that all i tend to buy were independant books. even then i haven't baught anything for the last 5 years.

not to mention i don't like paying $3+ anymore. I was spending $50+ a week on comics!

while i agree on that. In the stroy line he was not considered a mutant because it came from a bite and not something natural. Wich is why the public loved him instead of wanting him dead like the mutants.

As far as Marvel goes, I buy the Punisher and a couple of other smaller titles. I think I buy mostly wildstorm and vertigo. But now that I think about it, I wonder where the $70+/week I spend on comics goes. :Q

Some of the independent titles are pretty good too. I pick them up when I see an interesting one. I've got 2 or 3 on my subscription list, I'm sure.

Makes sense. Like I admit, I'm not a huge marvel fan, unlike the friend that got me into comics. Ever held a $25k comic book? :Q

The JLA/Avengers crossover showed some of the interesting differences between the ways the two universes treated their heros. Kinda neat.
