Worst kept secret is finally confirmed. Yes Makoto!!!!! My fave SF character ever. Hope she's at least mid tier. After Mass Effect, I need to start playing again to get ready. I suck so I need much work on fundamentals.

Reminds me, I need to trade away my 360 HRAP with Sanwa buttons added for a PS3 stick. I have 2 150 dollar sticks for 360 and none for PS3...I do have a PS2 Hori tekken stick but no converter.

Mod one of the sticks to be dual platform. From what I understand it's not too difficult if you start with an Xbox 360 stick. Mod it and sell the other off.

Hell yeah, Dudley! I was never a pro or anything at 3S, but Dudley was one of my top 3. I used Ibuki for fun sometimes, but her learning curve was too tight and she took too much damage, but I'll definitely try her here. I mostly avoided Makoto because I hate top tier, but who knows how good she'll be here. But Dudley! Dudley vs Balrog will finally happen!

New trailer

I am pretty "hype" as they say on SRK. Dudley's voice is kinda meh but oh well. I'm really interested in trying out the SF3 characters.

And I guess Hakan/Borat/Dr. Nick (turkish oil wrestler) really is going to be in the game.

Ibuki vs. Makoto

all english voices in sf4 are terrible, as is most of the music imo.

i hate when i go places and they have the voices set to english, it angers me!

Yeah i heard about a Chulhu board or something. Gotta research it some more. My friend at work only has a PS3 so I'm gonna want to play it on there too.

I played this guy (in person) a few weeks ago. The guy is INSANE! I've NEVER seen SFIV characters played like this. I wish I had in game footage of him, but he launches attacks against opponents just like he does in this video. Absolutely crazy! His main character is Cammy, but he can play just about every character just as ruthless.

man ssf4 cant come out soon enough, sf4 is getting pretty lame online.

and JackBurton that guy has some pretty good execution, but the stuff he is doing is pretty common place (with Cammy that is). The ken stuff is cool and a good measure of execution, but the majority of the combos he does in that video arent even realistic to do in a game, the return is not worth the meter due to damage scaling.

The guy was doing those combos during competition, and the Cammy combos were just a sample. He was linking stuff I didn't think could be linked. I've seen people do combos during training, but then when the game starts, they really can't pull them off consistently. But this guy was crazy good. I actually felt so discouraged I didn't play SFIV for awhile after playing him. Like I said, I wish I had some in game footage of him. His Akuma was insane too.

you guys claiming stuff "should be" DLC or whatever really need to get off your high horse. who are you to tell a company what theys hould and shouldn't do?

if you are a paying customer, you can say whatever the fuck you want. whether they want to listen or not is irrelevant.

yea i hear you. those cammy combos are pretty simple though in all honesty. her links are not that tough, and then it goes right into FADC then continue. she is probably the best of the 'weak' characters in SF4 though because she has a good rush down. but not having an overhead makes downback your best friend when playing against her since her mixup isnt that great. (yea I know her jump spike special move CAN be overheaded but I'm referring to a normal overhead)

personally since i use a charge character, i very rarely use FADC, but if you play a non-charge character, FADC needs to be mastered to get to high level play.

i mainly use it when i am just trying to throw my opponent off after I do a dash punch and just throw them. there aren't many things you can do with them as a charge character.

i've played some high level players online and offline, and it is such a different game once you start getting to the higher levels. it is more of a mind screw than anything, which is what I love about it, but playing 2 fairly high level players online can be more frustrating than anything due to lag.

i could ramble about sf4 all day heh.

I love me some Street Fighter, by having to shell out an extra $100+ just to be able to adequately play the game is ridiculous.

I believe that purbeast has every version of SFIV: 360, PS3 and PC. ;)

yea i have it for all but i only play on 360 and would play on PS3. my PC monitor lags a little bit so ever since my got my 'lagless' monitor to hook my 360 and PS3 up to I have not played it on PC.

my primary console is xbox360 though. i've put way too many hours into the game.

i took this pic about 2 weeks ago when i hit 5k wins...

the hours aren't really accurate at all though because i leave sf4 on in the menu a lot, and it counts that. but the total matches, yea that is accurate, and it's only on xbox live, doesnt count offline :(

nah double perfect is almost impossible. i can seriously only remember doing it one time, which was within the past 2 months or so. also certain characters give me more trouble than others, sagat being the toughest for me. rogs matchup against him is just a tough one.

the funny thing is too, when i got a double perfect, my ratings were 2 A's and a B, the B being my offense....

regardless of people's skills, i am always up for playing people as long as they actually try and learn. what bothers me are the people that i play in player matches, beat em 1 match, then they kick me because im better than them. or the guys who try to counter pick and i end up beating them and when they are all done counterpicking, they kick me. it is just annoying.

but i've had some sessions with people i'm clearly better than, even winning like 10x in a row, but the guy keeps playing and trying to learn from his mistakes. the fact that he's trying to improve is what i care about.

Damn. I stopped playing SFIV because I didn't like the gameplay that much. I've been playing HDR mostly.

purbeast, do you pretty much exclusively play player matches?

Wow, even more than me. I got about 230 hours on my 360 before I sold it and have close to 100 hours on the PC version. Too bad you don't play PC, I would like to see how good you are. As for me, I have the unfortunate predicament of choosing Vega as my main. Gah. Usually fine unless I'm playing someone who realizes he is the only character in the game with no start-up invincibility on any moves. Damn you Capcom!

yea vega is a pretty terrible option in sf4 unfortunately, he is such a cool character in general.

and penny, i mainly just played champ mode until i hit SG where it is a ghost town, so now all i play is player matches. i play somewhat often with people from gamefaqs and shoryuken forums who are pretty good too.

Makoto in SS4!? How? I mean it's great but Makoto with no parry? I'm so confused. Is there going to be a stun meter?

Gah, I wish I could play games more often :(

WHOA! You hit SG - Congrats man. I only got to 10k, and that took me forever. Damn Balrogs :p

I've played him before.. He totally owns me for free. I'd probably go 0-10 against him easily. Anyway I saw him play at EVO last year and most of the high level guys around the US own him for free. They read his cammy like an open book. And then there's the TOP LEVEL players in the US (Valle, Ricky O, some of the EMP guys) who'd own the high level guys free all day... then there's Justin Wong, arguably best player in the US who can consistently beat those top level guys... then there's the land of the Rising Sun where the no namers are probably better than 90% of the top level US players........ then there's Sakomoto's akuma
