just installed, and holy crap, i have to comment on the performance. FA running on both my monitors(1920x1080 and 1680x1050) would be slightly choppy gfx wise. SC2 is pegged at 60fps, both monitors, all settings on high with 2xaa and 16x aniso. way to go gpg.

Thanks for the heads up vshah. Can I ask though what the 2nd monitor is used for? Is it like the first games where's it's basically the overlay of the map / mini-map?

wow, thats pretty cool. i didn't know they did that. its actually using the 2nd monitor for something useful. please let me know how it works.

I thought both monitors could be used as equals? or is one just limited to the mini map? Can you direct units if you zoom down on the minimap screen?

2nd monitor seems to work the same way as in the first game. click in the first monitor, and your mouse controls the camera there. click in the 2nd, and you can set it to whatever view you want. I usually leave #2 at strategic view so i can monitor intel. if you try to track a unit, it always tracks on the main monitor. you can then issue commands on #2 if you like, but the OSD stays on monitor #1 so it is a little annoying if you want to track on one monitor and control on another. maybe they'll fix this if enough people ask for it. probably wouldn't be hard to fix as a UI mod.

also, that 60fps at the beginning of the game went down to 40-45 towards the end of the final mission with ~500 units on the map. never a hiccup...i'm really impressed performance wise.

i also really like the new research system. wish that one research station gained points faster though, i end up making 8+ research stations.

also the early economy is much easier. didn't run into mass or energy shortages nearly as easily. no dreaded game killing resource stalls. economy seems to be much less of a factor than in SC/FA

i took a crappy cell phone video showing the dual monitor functionality. anyone know where i can upload a ~15mb mkv?

I can't seem to change the resolution to 1920x1200....it cuts off my available choices. Anyone know a way around this?

Weird to see the Square Enix logo when loading up the game. Used to only seeing that on RPGs :p

So far I am liking Supcom2, it definitely is not as challenging as the others as far as economy goes. It is a lot faster paced, the upgrade system is nice. The original and FA are still better though IMO.

Well SupCom2 seems like it will be mainstream and have more players to go against online. It is a lot easier to pick up and have a large battle.

As far as FA, it has a bit more of a learning curve and is more hardcore. It has a really small comunity.

If you like either supcom1/fa or supcom2, youll like the other. I say get both , if you are not sure the old one is really cheap now
