I hope he retires a Brown just for shits.

:D

oh , wait.... :hmm:

This makes me wonder: when a guy like Terrel Owens retires, who does he retire with? ...who would actually want him, now?

You know, that point seems to escape certain people for whatever reason. :whiste:

Don't miss the other thread, too!

MotionMan

I don't think I've read a thread with the word stupid used as much as this one's first page. :p

I agree, if someone wants to retire with a specific team then don't change teams. If they traded the player then the team already said fuck you, so why go back to retire there? It's just more fan fleecing by marketing departments.

Ahh, yes. The guy who puts his username at the end of every post, when it is in a font 4 times the size right on the left is lecturing us on what is stupid.

See page one on all my comments on why MotionMan is an idiot for thinking these players are dumb for retiring with their team. He even started a poll that backfired on him

...for some reason, I now totally agree with Motion Man 100%

I am not sure why you think it backfired? The poll went exactly how I expected (and invited) it to.

The fact that I may be an idiot does not lessen the fact that the practice of players "retiring as a" is stupid. The two are completely unrelated and not mutually-exclusive.

Thats true but you're missing the best bit. That something so trivial can anger you so much that you have now posted every athlete who retires with "their" team since Fred Taylor did it. You take "has too much time on his hands" to a whole new level, and have taken your hatred of all things trivial and completely benign in a normal person's life to the extreme.

Bottom line is, who cares?

Of all your examples, if you can't see why Donovan McNabb retired as an Eagle, there is simply no hope for you.

1. I am not angry. I am stating my opinion: I believe it is a stupid act;
2. I am amused by people like you who this clearly is an issue for;
3. I read ESPN.com every day. If I see one of these, I take the whole 3 minutes it takes to post it here. I fail to see how that is evidence of having too much time on my hands.
4. If "who cares?", why do you keep posting in this thread?
5. Re: McNabb - I understand WHY they do it. I just think it is stupid. And, so far, no one has presented a valid reason for it other than it feels good. I believe the stupid outweighs the feel good.
